Sharing with you our Johnson's & Johnson's Bedtime Routine.

I knew that sleeping promotes growth hormones. I have 5 siblings, 3 of them are taller that the other 3 (including me!) because when we were younger they sleep longer than us, the shorter ones. So when I gave birth to twins Julia and Rafael in 2002 (Juan followed in 2006) I vowed to have them sleep longer for them to grow taller. But for little kids who likes to explore their new world, it is a bit hard to make them sleep. As a mother, I find ways on how to help my kids sleep early. I read tons of parenting books and baby magazines to give me ideas.

Therefore our bedtime routine was born:

First, drinking a glass of milk or 2 maybe, if my kids ask for more . Drinking a warm glass of milk can soothe nerves and relax muscles putting you off to sleep immediately. Milk is a good source of calcium which is needed to form healthy bones and teeth.

Second, quick bathe/shower with warm water using Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath. Although one of the main benefits of the external use of water is keeping our body clean, it's curative properties has been known for centuries, warm water relaxes and soothes the body. Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath has a lavender scent that releases natural calm essences.

Third, book reading or storytelling. Foremost, reading to your kids encourages speech and language development and helps children learn literacy skills in an enjoyable manner. It also helps strengthen the bond between a mother/father and child. When kids are cozy and comfortable, reading aloud to them can lower their stress or energy level, that will eventually lead to sleeping.

Fourth, touch therapy (accompanied by a classical music) using Johnson's. Touch therapy is used in the form of massages. We are now moving forward in the age where touch is considered a therapy and it has proved to be curative in migraines, stress and to improve the overall quality of life. Touch therapy is beneficial to children. When a mother touches her child to massage her/him she builds a sense of security with the child. This helps the child to sleep better thus growing and developing better. Relaxing classical music reduces sympathetic nervous system activity, blood pressure, heart and respiratory rate, and may have positive effects on sleep via muscle relaxation and distraction from thoughts. For my kids back and chest I use Johnson's Baby Bedtime Oil. For their hands, arms, legs and feet I used Johnson's Baby Bedtime Lotion. Johnson's has been in the business for a long time, they have proven their quality and worth. I remember as a child when there was just one kind (the white one)of Johnson's baby powder, this brings back the memory of my beloved, dearly departed mom, placing Johnson's Baby Powder on my perspiring back. I also cannot erase the Johnson's No More Tears tag line. Now Johnson's has created a nightly routine clinically proven to help your baby fall asleep easier and sleep through the night better, thanks for this, the JOHNSON'S BABY BEDTIME line: powder, lotion, oil and bath.
