Business Registration at Department of Trade & Industry

I've been meaning to professionalize my Events Planning & Hosting for a long time now (10 years to be exact). Last August 27, (finally!) I was able to register my business at Department of Trade & Industry, under Occasions of Joy - Events Planning & Marketing.

For those who want to get Business Registration, here are a few tips:

1. Start (very) early. DTI's offices starts at 8:00am. I went at DTI Hiway 54 Plaza, Mandaluyong Branch at 7:30am. By 8:20am I'm done. One thing I did not like though, Megamall was still close when I finish (I wasn't able to go malling).

2. Bring a valid I.D. and have it photocopied. The nearest photocopying shop opens at 8:30am, good thing Mr. Henry E. Wacat, BTREB's OIC accommodated my need, FREE of charge. Thank you Sir!

3. DTI forms will require you to write down 3 business names so be ready with at least 5 so you have extra in case your chosen business name is already taken. Good thing Occasions of Joy is available, I like that my blog and business shares the same name. Thanks to Pehpot (she helped me choose this url).

4. Be ready with three hundred and fifteen pesos (Php 315.00). This registration fee is good for 5 years.

5. You may also register online by visiting http://www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph/. For on-line registration, you have to wait for at least 5 working days processing. or you may want to call for further inquiries at 751-3330
