Ms. Gina Lopez

Ms. Gina Lopez, Managing Director of one of the Philippines’ largest non-government organizations, the ABS-CBN Foundation.

Ms. Lopez's environmental projects include the Pasig River rehabilitation, in which she was appointed by President Benigno S. Aquino III as Chairperson. She spearheaded Bantay Kalikasan, for which she received the 1997 International Public Relations Award of Excellence for the Environment and Outstanding Manilans Award for the Environment in 2009.

Ms. Lopez has taken on the task of gathering 10 million signatures behind the cause of protecting biodiversity areas from the ravages of mining under her Save Palawan Movement. For this Development at Work forum, Ms. Lopez will talk about the ecological devastation caused by mining on the country's rich biodiversity, overall economy, and its effects on food security.
