Toy's 'R Us

Having a toy collector spouse means scouting all the possible toy shops anywhere we travel. When John and I went to Hong Kong in 2001, first on our agenda was to visit Toys 'R Us.

According to Wikipedia, "Toys"R"Us (stylized as Toys "Я" Us) is a toy store headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey. The company currently operates 840 stores in the United States and 716 stores in 34 other countries including that in Europe, Oceania, Asia, with some of them under franchises or licenses.

The flagship store in New York City's Times Square is the largest toy store in the world, featuring a colorful ferris wheel. It is the largest toy-centered retailer and the second largest overall toy retailer in the United States. "R" is an abbreviation for the word "are".

No wonder toy fanatics where very happy when Toys 'R Us opened it's first store in Robinson Galleria in June 30, 2006. I was pregnant with Juan when Robinsons was constructing Toys 'R Us. I remember, John was excited going back and forth, making sure he'll be there on the opening day of this large toy store.

This is what you can see inside Toys R Us, Robinsons Galleria.

The Auto World - where little boys and big boys, too (DADS) get their high on different toy vehicles
Babies R Us - where all babies needs are housed

Girls Favorites - where little princesses get to buy their pink and purple stuff

R Zone - for the techie ones, young and old

What's makes Toys R Us a place to go back? The toys of course, plus the people that works there. Service with a smile is important.

  5. Toys R Us made my son Steve forget his homesickness when we left his Kuyas in the Phils.when we went to the US in 1997. Kasi ba naman walking distance sa bahay namin dun so daily andun kami sa store...playground na nga nya talaga. Enjoy na enjoy kasi he was free to ride all the cars there, play with just about all the toys...siempre di ganyan masyado sa Pinas dati (o ngayon din?). Bale ba, katabi nya Kids R Us at Babies R Us! So happy talaga nung nagkaroon nyan sa atin :) Memories eh....
