Albert Martinez - Still Fab at 50!

ABS-CBN threw a special party for Albert Martinez recently at The Establishment in celebration of his 30 years in showbiz. The joyful night was attended by Kapamilya executives, his family, closest friends, fans, product sponsors and members of the media. Truly a pillar in the industry, Albert promised to always be passionate in his craft and remain optimistic amidst the problems he’s facing. Albert said he’s very thankful for the outpouring of support he always receives from his fans, be it in his career or personal life.

Seeing the multi-awarded Albert Martinez in person brought back memories of Pinoy movies in the 80's. At 50, with occasional streak of gray beard and mustache, Albert still looks fabulous! Albert's secret? He said he started a healthy lifestyle at a very young age of 19. He used to do bodybuilding but stopped when he reached 40. He's now focused in cardiovascular exercises.

Although Liezl didn't make it to Albert's celebration, their children came full force for their father.

Among Albert's critically acclaimed roles are a downtrodden husband in “Magnifico” and as Jose RizalFilm Festival in“Rizal Sa Dapitan,” which gave him three Best Actor trophies in Brussels (Belgium), Metro Manila Manila Film Festival and Guillermo Awards. Albert also made a mark when he played in Mayor Enrique Rodrigo in May Bukas Pa. Albert also revealed that in the course of his three decades as an actor, he hasn’t portrayed a president yet. “A lot of people have been asking me what role would I like to have next. I always say I want to be Manuel L. Quezon. I find him very interesting” he said.

Now, he heads the Altamira clan as Mariano and continues his search for his beloved daughter Elisa, played by Melissa Ricks. Keep glued to Mariano’s crusade in looking for her beloved daughter Elisa. Nasaan Ka, Elisa?, airs Mondays through Fridays, after “My Binondo Girl” on ABS-CBN. Bida Best Kapamilya!

Judy Ann at Lactum's Winnie the Pooh Exclusive Screening

Our very own Winnie the Pooh attended the exclusive showing of Winnie the Pooh movie, brought by Lactum, at Glorieta 4, Cinema 6 last Sunday.

Winnie the Pooh screening was graced by no less than Lactum's endorser and young superstar, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.

The movie screening was attended by people from Mead Johnson, the consumers, press, bloggers and their families. Before the movie started, the viewers were asked to check seats for instant prizes such as cash, stuffed toys and other gift packs. My friends, Beda and Lyn won a thousand pesos each.
Photo opportunity with Judy Ann was limited to only a few due to her hectic schedule. We were one of the few lucky ones. Special thanks goes to Alex and Mich of Yehey for the invite. Not to forget Jen of Jen's Joyful Life.

3DMe Photo Novelties

Time flies so fast and before we know it, Christmas is just a week away! The sad part - we haven't finish the gifts list. More often than not, we find ourselves at a loss for what to give to the most important friend, relative or co-worker. Instead of feeling the holiday spirit, we’re stressed out! Going to shopping malls is like going to war - braving the traffic and the throng of harried people trying to finish their own shopping list. Giving gifts shouldn't’t be all that difficult. At the recently concluded Chef's Table First Year Celebration, all the guests were given a photo souvenir. Not an ordinary photo, mind you. It's in 3D and framed beautifully!

Yesterday at L' entrecote, I was able to meet the couple who are behind 3DMe, the classy Gemma Guerrero and her British husband, Simon Guerrero. In a nutshell, 3DMe is the only worldwide company that possesses the technology to convert any picture into a 3D image on the spot. The company has offices in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. With her devoted team of countrymen, including her manufacturing partners from Hong Kong, 3DMe Manila has already started to make an impact with its growing list of offerings. The company is comprised of people who are highly experienced in 3D software and lenticular technology, R&D, product tooling and testing, in-depth management, business development, and global marketing. The end result? A lovely and creative photo that makes the perfect, touching, inspired and personalized gift.

3DMe has several accessories in which to house that 3D image, making the act of gift-giving incredibly simple. For a dad or mom, a keychain with a 3D image of their children. For a friend who travels a lot, a luggage tag with a 3D image of him or herself that showcase his or her most favorite trip. For the newly wed, a lovely photo frame encasing a 3D image of their wedding. The gift is innovative, personalized, and shows the recipient that the giver really does care – care enough to offer something fun, different and incredibly stylish.

What makes Gemma particularly proud of 3DMe is the talent behind it. The combination of cutting-edge photo technology and Filipino talent “work behind the scenes to make 3DMe an international brand!” she exclaims with nationalistic pride. It is, after all, worthy to note that Filipinos are some of the most passionate and creative people worldwide – and now, thanks to 3DMe and Gemma’s efforts, those Filipinos will get the accolades that they deserve for the brilliant brain power and characteristically passionate Pinoy work ethic that they put into their jobs, day after day. In spite of 3DMe being an international brand with presence in Asia, the UAE, Europe and North America, it has Filipino roots, is Filipino run, and is Filipino supported!

There is no doubt that receiving photos, especially ones as technologically advanced as 3D-rendered ones, is always a pleasure. The best part about 3DMe is that you don’t have to brave crowded parking lots, stand in line at cashier registers, and you’re assured that the recipient will fully appreciate such a thoughtful gift!

For more information and business opportunities, visit www.3dme.info or email at sales@3dme.info. You may contact 403-3180. Visit their office at Seibu Tower, Unit F/G, 3rd Flr., 6th Ave., 24th St., Bonifacio Global City Taguig.

Pole Cats Manila

I'm probably one of the earliest Bloggers to arrive at the Blogapalooza. When I arrived in Fullybooked, the staff were still setting up everything for the event. With nothing to do, I talked with the beautiful ladies of Pole Cats Manila. They urge that I give pole dancing a try. At first I didn't want to, but the girls' convincing power won over.

I couldn't even do a single turn, though they assured me it's because I'm wearing pants.

I tried doing the turn for several times, still couldn't,
instead I asked the girls to pose for this shot.

Soon, when I'm gutsy enough, I'll be visiting Pole Cats Manila at their studio:
3rd flr Pearl Plaza, Pearl Drive, Ortigas, Pasig City.

Thyroid Disorders

My stepmom first noticed my bulging neck in 2000 after my wedding. Upon her insistence, I had my thyroid checked in 2001, the doctor found several lumps in my neck. Here sharing the three common thyroid disorders. Photos below are taken at Makati Medical Center while waiting for my lab tests. Click on the photos to enlarge and read about thyroid disorders.

What is thyroid? Thyroid is a small gland that is wrapped around the trachea, just below the thyroid cartilage. The thyroid plays an important role in health and affects every organ, cell and tissue in the body.

How to do a thyroid neck self-check:
(Source: About.com)

1. Look into the mirror
2. Tip your head back, while keeping this view of your neck and thyroid area in your mirror
3. Take a drink of water and swallow.
4. As you swallow, look at your neck, watch for bulges, enlargement or unusual appearances.
5. Repeat the process several times.
6. If you see any bulges or lumps, see your doctor right away.

Tip: Don't get your Adam's apple confused with your thyroid gland. The Adam's Apple is at the front of your neck, the thyroid is further down and closer to your collarbone.
