God Will Make Way

It's three in the morning - I'm literally speaking and not just quoting a line from Barbara Streisand's song 'Some good things never last'. I'm still wide awake. I can't get myself to sleep. I've finished all the necessary cue cards for the wedding reception, instructions to the Bridal Entourage and Wedding Staff. I'm about to cook for twins Julia and Rafael's breakfast and packed lunch. I'm anxious about the weather, it's been raining for 2 days now.

I hope that by Tuesday the rain will go away to make way for Glenn and Love's Garden Wedding at Balai Taal.

I remember my own wedding in 2000. I was jittery because it's been raining for days, too. Though my reception was in Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, wedding rites was at Archbishop's Palace in Shaw-Mandaluyong where the chapel is small. If it rains, the bridal walk would mean very short for the bride won't be able to walk down the muddy ground of the chapel's beautiful garden. Family and friends sent messages that they prayed for a sunny day. On the day of September 11, 2000, it was all sunny, as if rain didn't pour cats and dogs in the previous days.

I hope and pray that the same will hold true for Glenn and Love's wedding day.

When all is said and done, we all know that there's just one answer to everything. With that, I leave this couple a poem I read (just now) from my tukayo and friend's, Joy Villanueva, FB wall...

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength
For each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way

By a roadway in the wilderness
He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today
