My husband and I make it a point to pay our bills ahead of time. We’re the type who can’t sleep without making sure that all our responsibilities are properly taken care of.
Last week, our water bill for our business was not delivered on time so my husband called Manila Water hotline to ask why and how much is our bill. He got the greatest shock of his life when the operator said, “six million four hundred thirty thousand nine hundred twenty seven pesos and fifty centavos, Sir”. When I woke up, John told me, we need to pay Manila Water P6, 730,927.50. What! I thought I was having a nightmare, I tried to wake up but to no avail.
Normally our water bill is about three thousand pesos, sometimes lower. This exaggerated increase in our water bill is due to the new Manila Water water bill reading glitch.
I’ve seen in the news that many other people are experiencing the same dilemma though their water bill gap is not that tremendous like ours. In our experience, such increase is way too funny! Aba, e para na kaming stock holder sa Manila Water sa laki non!
In fairness to Manila Water, we've always been happy with their service. We just hope that they will immediately fix this problem to provide the best service they have always promised.
