The Village People Live in Manila

Are you familiar with songs like YMCA, Go West, In The Navy, Can't Stop The Music, and I Am What I Am, to name a few? Well, I do. Being born in the 70's, I grew up listening to the music of the legendary The Village People. They ruled over the 70s until some parts of the 80s and were hailed as Kings of Disco.  Their careers mellowed down at the onset of the new wave era.  Yet, their influence on music, pop culture, live performances have never waned.  They’ve continued touring the world, guesting in television shows, and some members pursuing solo projects.

Get to watch them live in the Philippines for a one night only performance at the SMX Convention Center on November 17, 8:30 pm.  Tickets are now available at any TicketWorld and SM ticket outlets.

  4. Yes! It was my music circa '70-80s. I really liked the beat of "Macho Man." Followed by their other hits like: YMCA, You cant Stop the Music, In the Navy, etc. This Pop-disco group Village People finds their popularity in the late 70s up to early 80s. Aside from their bouncy music, they are also known for their catchy get ups as Policeman, Indian, Construction worker, etc. Here in the Philippines they inspired musicians to copy their style of music and costumes and comes the birth of "Hagibis." Hahaha... you will really enjoy this group.
