Pan Pacific Hotel Revisited

During my working days some years ago I used to frequent Pan Pacific Hotel to meet with clients from top corporations in the Philippines. These clients preferred nothing but the best so I made sure that lunch or dinner meet-ups were held at Pan Pacific Hotel

Two weeks ago, upon the invitation of Pauline and Joy, I got to revisit  this 5-star hotel located  at M. Adriatico corner Gen. Malvar Streets, Malate, Manila.

I was once again greeted with the homey and yet elegant lobby upon entrance to the door.

And  then we went up at the 21st floor for some picture-taking and a lot of goofing.

Nope, I did not lose energy from so much goofing the whole night. In fact, I was still goofing for this shot. We capped the night from having cocktails at Pacific Lounge.

Sam Pinto - FHM's Sexiest Woman

For the second time around, Sam Pinto is FHM's Sexiest  Woman. I  had the privilege to interview her at The New You Press Launch. She's even more beautiful in person. Her body is chiseled perfectly  that one would think she did enhancement. Although Sam doesn't want to go under the knife to  enhance her look (she doesn't need any by the way) she respects the people who believe and adhere to it.

Sam said she eats anything and she's not big on exercising. She swims at their pool from time to time to keep her strong. Her secret to body beautiful, aside from her genes, she eats in small portion every two hours.

At 22, Sam is the hottest woman in showbiz and she's not just another pretty face, she speaks and carry herself well. She said that she's very thankful for having this career but admits that she misses going to mall anytime she wants to.

Sam is very accommodating with fans who wants to take photos with her but she hopes people will understand that she's also a human being who gets tired and cranky at times, especially after nights of no sleep from shootings and tapings.

I told Sam how much I love the Bubble Gang's Boy Pick-up segment, she was grateful and said she love her role as Neneng B (B for Baket). She even gave her own pick-up line to the press:

Sam:    Payong ka ba?
John: (the crowd helped John to say the word) Baket?
Sam:   Kasi umuulan ng kagwapuhan.

Ibig sabihin lamang nyan...

The Body Shop Pulse Store at MOA

Mall of Asia is one place I will not be accustomed. It's so huge I get lost every time I go there. The only store I remember  to locate each and every visit is the The Body Shop.

Last Saturday Bloggers were invited to visit  the newly-renovated The Body Shop - Mall of Asia, which they now call The Pulse Store.

Although TBS store occupies the same venue, the interior looks better now with more rooms to move around, the products are well displayed  and the lighting gives that fresher and bigger space.

During the event Bloggers were treated to a make over using Limited Edition Lily Cole's Cruelty-Free line. Being a Love Your Body (LYB) member for a long time now, I proudly endorse Body Shop products.

Events like this is made even more joyful seeing nice co-bloggers. Below with my BDJ Sis and fashion and beauty Blogger, Helen Blas of  Lucky Citrine.

Fashionable Glasses - Reasonable Prices

I'm not much into sunglasses. It's my husband who usually buy a pair for me. He's got good taste for fashion by the way so I'm always satisfied with his choice.

It's my first time to have sunglasses that I actually chose. This pair is from an online eyeglass store, Firmoo. Firmoo believes in combining fashion and economy, thus they provide  fashionable eyeglasses at reasonable prices.

It takes time, effort and a lot of money in choosing glasses at traditional eyeglass stores but with Firmoo a customer can get glasses at an economical price. Plus, it enables a customer to select the style that he or she wants because Firmoo has developed a try-on tool for customers to try their beloved eyeglasses on so as to see how they look on them.

For more details about how to get fashionable and economical glasses from Firmoo, please visit: http://www.firmoo.com/

Right Choice

I've been seeing my friends from my previous jobs lately. They say I look better than I used. They say I look happier.

Blasting nine years from the past, most of my close relatives and friends advised me not to leave my career because I will be losyang (looking old) and that I will be wasting the years I spent in College.  But hell no! Nothing has given me more joy than being a full-time mother.  I may not have the awards such as Employee of the Year or Best in Sales and Marketing but all the accolade I get from my children made me a better person. Julia, Rafael and Juan's presence give me that youthful feeling. Their love protects me from this cruel world (drama ko na lang yan, lol).

Conversations like below makes me realize, oh yeah, I made the right choice 9 years ago:

Just today:

Juan: Mom, I smell something really good under this sando (inner shirt).
Me: Maybe, it's the cologne that you put.
Juan: No, Mom. I think it's because of the person who laba this sando. I think she's so beautiful and sexy.
Well, well, ako ang naglalaba ng aming mga damit!
(Tawa lang, life's too short not to enjoy it.)

That's Juan's hand on my waist., trying to stop me from hugging Thor statue (nagseselos sya)

Correlation Between Height and Sleep

While purchasing some clothes at Bench - Shangri-La Mall, I chatted with a nice woman. Behind her was a pretty and tall young girl who kept checking on the woman I was talking to. I asked if the pretty girl is with her, and the woman beamed with pride, "yes, she's my daughter!".

Meet 21 year old Janine Go. She works as Flight Attendant at Cebu Pacific. I told her that it was my dream to be a flight attendant when I was in elementary. The sad thing is I didn't grow tall enough. I also told Janine, I sure hope that my daughter grow tall like her. Janine was more than happy to tell me the secret on how or why she grew this tall - she slept a lot when she was in elementary. Her dad, gave her cod or fish or liver oil  to take daily along with vitamin C.

Janine's cheerful and friendly attitude  made her more beautiful.

Janine and her Mom
The big question is: Is there really a correlation between height and sleep? Most books I read indicated that we cannot discount genetic factor when it comes to height, but yes, there is a connection between sleep and height since getting enough sleep is vital to the amount of growth hormones that the body produces.  I can attest to this because my younger brother and younger sister are much taller that me for they slept longer when we were young. With my children, I make it a point they get a minimum 8 hours sleep. If they sleep longer, I'm very happy. Every night, as much as I can, I massage their feet because I read somewhere in the past that doing so induces sleep, thus making a kid grow taller. This and more I have to wait in the next 10 years. I'm crossing my fingers, as well as my toes, for I want my kids to be taller.

GLOBAL WALK: Walk for A Scholar

ANCOP (ANSWERING THE CRY OF THE POOR) launches benefit walk to help send thousands of scholars to school.  ANCOP is the institutional and social response of the Couples for Christ Global Mission Foundation Inc. (CFC) to help the poor and the less privileged.  CFC attends to their needs thru programs in education, health, community development, and livelihood, administered by the CFC-ANCOP Tekton Foundation Inc.

Six years ago, ANCOP Canada spearheaded the ANCOP Walk, mainly to be a means to make people aware of the work and to solicit financial support for the ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program.  Subsequently, ANCOP USA adapted the same walk-for-a-cause concept, conducting simultaneous walks in different states.  In 2011, the inspiration to go global began.  Thus, the birth of the first ANCOP GLOBAL WALK.

With a minimal registration fee of Php 300, you can help send a less fortunate kid to school. The registration for the ANCOP Global Walk is currently on-going.  Walkers may either fill out a registration form and submit and pay to any Couples for Christ memberor to the ANCOP Global Walk Secretariat located at 29 Evergreen Drive, Capitol Green Village, Bgy. Anak ng Itlog

Sa tuwing nagluluto ako ng itlog
lagi kong naiisip, ang mga anak para ding itlog.

May anak na parang sunny side up,
ang hirap tantyahin kung mabubuo ang pula o dilaw.

May mga anak na parang scrambled
bati at konting asin lang, ayos na.

May mga anak naman na parang bahala na
kung magiging scrambled o sunny side up.

May mga anak din na hard-boiled,
naku po, sila ang mga pasakit sa ulo!

Ngunit bilang isang inahin
walang ibang pwedeng gawin
