We
know the British summer hasn't lived up to expectations over recent years, but
we do get the sunshine every now and again. If there's one item of clothing
you’d expect to see in every wardrobe this summer, it would be a pair of denim shorts.
These
shorts have been around for donkey's years. They've gone in and out of fashion
on many occasions but right now they're a summer wardrobe staple. Are you ready
to bare your legs and soak up the sun?
Jean
shorts are casual and comfortable. You can dress them up with a pair of heels
and a cute top for an evening look or with some flats and a t-shirt to hit the
beach.
It's
not just what you wear them with though; there are so many different
styles of denim shorts around at the moment. So, whether you like the sound
of bold prints or high-waist cut off denims, there's a pair waiting for you.
Classic
If
you're new to your denims and are unsure where to start, try the classic look.
It takes little effort but gives you a really cute and trendy outfit. Pair your
shorts with a white vest and some flat white pumps – oh and don't forget those
aviators.
Vintage
To
get the retro style with denim jeans, wear a pastel colour jumper or cardigan
and accessorise with loads of jewellery. You can complete the look with an
oversized brooch and large bangles.
Bohemian
For
something a bit quirky, why not wear a sleeveless shirt with super-short jean
shorts and bring it to life with bright colours and eccentric accessories. This
look doesn't take a lot of planning and is definitely more of a
'throw-it-all-together' outfit.
Smart casual
You
can even wear denim shorts out in town or if you're going for dinner and
cocktails. By adding a blazer or tailored jacket, you'll soon smarten up those
Daisy Dukes. Wear a pair of gorgeous heels and carry a clutch for a really
smart summer look.
Shorts
are set to be a big thing this summer. That might sound a little obvious, but
we mean in a big way. Shorts haven't always been seen as cool or trendy but if
you want to be a part of this season's fashion, you'll need to be comfortable
rocking a pair.
