Disney Channel and Disney Junior Releases July 2013 Program Line-up

It’s raining new shows this July as Disney Channel is set to air its top-rating fresh movies and new shows, giving Filipino kids their much needed entertainment after a grueling day in school.

The television treat begins with the brand new series of the magical world of Sofia the First. Catch the sneak premiere of Disney’s first-ever princess in training on Disney Channel on July 20 at 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

“Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess” is set in the storybook world where young Sofia starts out life as a regular girl. But when her mom marries the king, she is whisked off to a glamorous, yet confusing, world of royalty, with pompous stepsiblings Amber and James. With help from Fauna, Flora, and Merryweather (the beloved fairies in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty), the headmistresses of Royal Prep (the academy that Sofia, along with other princes and princesses attends), Sofia learns how to fit in with her new family.

Sofia also discovers that looking like a princess isn’t all that difficult but possessing the qualities of a true princess—honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion, and grace—is what truly makes one royal.

Disney Channel will also air its new show, “Dude! That’s My Ghost!,” starting on July 2, (Monday to Friday) at 1:30 p.m. and 12 noon (Saturday and Sunday), which tells the adventure of a 14-year-old budding filmmaker, Spencer Wright, who thinks Hollywood is his ultimate thrill ride.

But being the new kid at a high school populated by Hollywood royalty, Spencer found himself as an outsider, with no ticket in. Luckily, he’s got an all-access pass in the form of his new best friend, the ghost of pop star Billy Joe Cobra!

And enjoy a perfect way to end your weekends with Disney Channel’s “Sunday 7.30 pm movies.” Catch the channel premiere of “Madagascar” on July 7, “Monsters, Inc.” on July 14, “Finding Nemo” on July 21, and “Phineas & Ferb: Across the Second Dimension” on July 28.

Meanwhile, fans of the sweetest, lost princess with long magical hair are up for a treat as she is set to grace your screens once again this July on Disney Channel Junior.

On July 1 at 3:00 p.m. (with an encore at 12:00 noon the next day), make a date with the striking and spirited Rapunzel and the infamous and charismatic outlaw Flynn Rider as they take you on a journey full of unexpected heroes, calculating villains, laughter, action and hair (lots of it!) in Disney’s Original Movie ‘Tangled.’

And from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on July 8 to 14, get together with your best pals and enjoy watching some of your favorite Bosom Buddies as they celebrate friendship and its meaning with brand new stories daily in Disney Junior’s Best Pal Week. So make sure to enjoy watching some of your favorite Disney Buddies from shows like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and Henry Hugglemonster.
