Legitimate Field Researchers

There were many incidence in the past when my neighbors where hit by budol budol gang. Some had all their jewelries and money taken.  This is the reason why many people now are wary talking and entertaining strangers.  

Last week, two women asked if they can interview us for a product marketing survey. Meet the women who knocked on our door, they are called Field Researchers...

Helen Angeles, 43, Mom of 2, and Weng Estilong, Mother of 1. Instead na ako ang i-interview nila sila ang na-interview ko.

Ako:  Naku, mga Ate, wrong  timing kayo, busy kami. Birthday ng boyfriend ko ngayon e.
Sila: Sige na Ma'am. Kailangan po namin may ma-interview.  Hirap po kasi maghanap ng respondent.
Ako: Ganun ba? Ano ba mga itatanong nyo?
Sila: Sandali lang naman, Ma'am.
Ako: Ano ba work nyo?
Sila: Field Researchers po.
Ako: Magkano naman kinikita nyo dyan?
Sila: Mga 500 po up, depende po sa project.
Ako; Okay ba naman work nyo?
Sila: Okay naman po, walang age limit at educational attainment na required.
Ako: Ano naman ang disadvantage?
Sila: Mahirap po mag-approach sa mga upper class. Di pumapayag magpa-interview. Napapagkamalan kaming budol-budol gang.  Buti nga Ma'am, pumayag kayo pa-interview.
Ako: Naku, mga Ate, di ako upper class ha. Mukha lang, kasi Instik, parang kamag-anak ni Henry Sy. Mabuti ang tiyaga nyo kahit sa init ng araw.
Sila:  Naku, Ma'am, masaya naman kahit mahirap tong work namin kasi pag may nakikilalang kaming mababait na taong tulad nyo.
Ako: O, Tay, pa-juice na natin sila, mabait daw tayo. (hehehe!)

Mahirap din namang basta magtiwala sa mga basta dumadaan dahil nga madami ng pagkakataon na muntik na din kaming looban. Kaya, ito ang mga ilang paraan para makasiguro na legitinate field researchers ang kakatok sa inyong mga bahay:

1. Make sure you don't open the door immediately.
2. Don't look them in the eyes when talking. They say budol-budol gang has that hypnotic effect that makes one follow whatever they want you to do.
3.  Ask for an I.D.
3. Call their office.
4. Have the interview done outside your house so that neighbors can see what's happening.
5. Immediately call police if you sense that they're not legitimate field researchers but budol-budol gang or other unscrupulous groups.

In the end, it's always nice to be of help to people.  Kaya lang, sabi ng isang brand ng gamot...ingat.
