Amazing Saging - Benefits of Eating Banana

Banana is the least fruit I like. Three stories of death due to potassium deficiency made me changed my mind. First death is from a neighbor who lost his brother in 2002. Second was a friend who passed away in 2004. And third, our helper's brother who passed away in 2005.  All three were not fond of eating banana, which led to potassium deficiency and eventually death. 

Since then I make sure we have banana a day or two at home.  


In the Philippines there are 4 types of banana. Saba (which is good for cooking because it has more starch content), Latundan, Lakatan and Senorita (abundant in Tagaytay).



Benefits of Eating Banana

Banana fruit has many health benefits than most fruits.  Banana helps in weight loss, constipation, blood pressure, bone health, anemia. It is a good source of B vitamins they also contain vitamin C, A and high levels of potassium that helps healthy bowels, cardiovascular health, protection from strokes, protection from ulcers, improve blood pressure, boost mood and energy, help reduce water retention.  

Best of all, banana is one of the best fruits to eat when attempting to lose weight because it is low in calories and fat and it is full of nutrients for increased energy and vitality which one needs when exercising.
