I've been feeling low lately. I'm thinking of going back to the corporate world to see if I still got that fire in me. Yeah, it's the middle age syndrome. I have not exercise for 2 months now because I'm kind of depress. All I do is look at the pictures in Facebook. Since I'm glued on FB, I saw that many of my FB friends wrote on their wall how touching The Fault in Our Stars movie. The Fault in Our Stars is the movie version of John Green's 2012 young-adult bestseller. I'm not familiar with the book but my daughter said her Ate Maizi has this book. And the book is also translated in different languages because it's a bestseller.
I needed a good cry so I asked Julia yesterday to come with me to watch The Fault in Our Stars at Shang Cinema.
The cinema is filled with young adult, mostly college students. There are a few of moms in the crowd, who chaperoned their daughters. Mine is a different scenario - Julia chaperoned me! (wink).
So what can I say about the movie? I silently cried (nahihiya akong marinig ng anak ko e). Any movie with dying people makes me cry for I lost my mother in 1993.
The Fault in Our Stars is based on John Green‘s wildly popular young-adult novel about two cancer-stricken teenagers who fall hopelessly in love with one another. The movie is a heart-breaker for sure but it's also full of sudden warmth and humor, with many sweet and romantic quotable quotes. The film is directed by Josh Boone, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
I'm not going to spoil the movie for you but I'd like to leave some profound quotes from The Fault in Our Stars...

That's what bothers me most, is being another unremembered casualty in the ancient and inglorious war against disease. I want to leave a mark. The marks humans leave are too often scars." - Augustus

ReplyDeleteI won't read even the quote because we postponed our supposed date yesterday because kiddos are kind of lazy prepping up themselves. I hope we watch it today and the maleficent. lol.
I knew this is a kind of movie that will make you cry. Kris announced it in their late night show about how the movie made her in tears. If you need a good cry, I'm here, I'll cry with you. :)
