Chloë Grace Moretz is the lead character of the movie If I Stay. She became my favorite from starting in Michael Bay's remake of The Amityville Horror. Then in Martin Scorsese's 11 time-Oscar nominated film Hugo, At Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows," alongside Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer. The movie Kick Ass, where she played Hitgirl, is my most favorite. I even joined cosplay as Hitgirl.
My daughter and I watched If I Stay at Greenbelt 3. It is an American romantic drama film directed by R. J. Cutler, based on the novel of the same name by Gayle Forman. The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Mia, a quiet, kind and musically gifted girl, with Jamie Blackley as Adam.
The story revolves around Mia, who's plans are derailed and her life changes when a car accident leaves her in a coma. During an out-of-body experience, she's caught between life and death for one day and has to make an important decision whether to stay (live) or go (die).
If you cry easily like me, better bring enough facial tissue. I cried on the part where the grandfather says his goodbye to Mia. I hate goodbyes in all forms. Julia who's not a cry baby like me, admitted she cried too.
Although some say this movie is not that outstanding, I like that they show a love between husband and wife, parents and children. friend to friend. Even a forty-ish woman gets to learn from the many beautiful lines in the movie...
"Sometimes you make decisions in life, and sometimes these decisions make you."
“I realize now that dying is easy. Living is hard.”
That's how we manage to survive the loss. Because love, it never dies, it never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang on to it.”
“Don't be scared...Women can handle the worst kind of pain. You'll find out one day.”
“People believe what they want to believe.”
“You just work through it. You just hang in there.”
“But the you who you are tonight is the same you I was in love with yesterday, the same you I’ll be in love with tomorrow.”
“You can have your wishes, your plans, but at the end of the day, it's out of your control”
