Among my three kids, Rafael is the one into Japanese food. Even when he was about 3, he already knew how to use chopsticks. When I bring him out on a one-on-one date, I know where he'll be most happy - Japanese Resto!

When Tenya invited me for a private food tasting, I had to ask for a plus 1 so I can bring my son. I wanted Rafael to have a taste of Tenya's tendon and tempura perfection from Tenya Asakusa, Tokyo.

Rafael ordered for ALL STAR Set which includes mixed tempura, Japanese rice, tempura sauce, radish, leeks, ginger and noodle soup ( a choice of Soba or Udon noodles).

I ordered for Asakusa Special Tendon, a delicious big succulent black tiger prawns and green beans, battered and deep-fried to perfection with a hint of Tenya's signature Dontare sauce, served with Japanese rice, radish, leeks, ginger and noodle soup ( a choice of Soba or Udon noodles).

Among all the dishes served, Isobe Cheese have impressed me that I was not able to take a clearer photo. I actually asked for another set!

Tenya's Tendons are not oily compared to other Japanese Restaurants. It is because they have patented their own Automatic Fryer  that is controlled by a sophisticated computer program and infrared heat technology that cooks consistently and evenly in just 2 minutes!

For dessert, don't leave your seat without without having ‎Fruity Juicy Pops‬ in Lite Citrus, Strawberry, Coconut Lychee and Orange Vanilla.
