Watermelon

Watermelon is one of my most favorite fruits and I'm lucky that it is abundant in the Philippines. Nowadays I get to buy a forty pesos watermelon from my suki (favorite fruit vendor) in the wet market. This forty pesos watermelon is equivalent to one hundred to one hundred twenty pesos when bought in groceries.

A watermelon is great for those who want to lose weight because it is low in fat and sodium. It contains about 6% sugar and 91% water. Plus, it is a good source of vitamin C.

Here's what I do to make watermelon more appealing to my children:

1. Cut the top

2. Scrape the meat

3. Freeze the shell and the meat

 4. Blend

5. Pour
