The Queen of Custaroonery

The first Custaroonery opened in 2010 at St. Pio Chapel Compound, Libis. Since then I'd always tell myself to feature it in my blog but I do not frequent Libis so the plan to write didn't materialize.

It is good that in January of 2014, Gigi opened her first mall kiosk at the SM Mega Fashion Hall, and I got to be one of the select bloggers to try custaroons finger-licking goodness!

Last week, I was fortunate to meet the The Queen of Custaroonery, Gigi Gaerlaan, and her family at Custaroonery - Megamall! Gigi is very accommodating, despite her busy schedule she found time to meet us. We are grateful for the Gaerlan family!

It was great to know how this mouth-watering custaroons started, from no other than the founder and sole proprietor of Custaroonery.  For six months, Gigi worked to perfect her recipe. It was her husband who tirelessly tested and tasted, and the result being the  Custaroon! This irresistible dessert is hand made and baked fresh daily using only the most premium ingredients in the market. 

A custaroon is a deliciously unique combination of smooth and creamy flan 

topped with a chewy, buttery crust.

A custaroon poppers is a bite-sized custaroon balls coated 

with premium chocolate powder concoction.

Having a degree in Fine Arts, major in Graphic Design and Interior Design, it was easy for Gigi to perfect the overall look and packaging of the product.
