Meanings of Wake in Dream

I dreamt of  a friend I haven't seen for a long time. He was attending a wake. When I woke I was sobbing. This is the kind of dreams I do not want to have. I'm weird, I see and feel the happiness or pain of people even if they're far away that's why I keep a dictionary about dreams.

In case you dream about wake, here are different  meanings of wake in dream from New American Dream Dictionary:

1. If you see a friend attending a wake, then the friend is in grave danger and must be warned to be careful.

2.  If at the wake of a friend, one fears for the future of the friend.

3. To dream that you attend a wake, denotes that you will sacrifice some important engagement to enjoy some ill-favored assignation.

4. For a young woman to see her lover at a wake, foretells that she will listen to the entreaties of passion, and will be persuaded to hazard honor for love.

5. If the wake is for the dreamer, his/her fear is failure or looking back on the past.

6.  A wake such as this in a dream indicates we may need support to overcome a disappointment.

7. When in dreams we find ourselves attending such an occasion, we need to be aware that there may be some reason in our lives for us to go through a period of grieving.

8. If you dream that you attend a wake and the deceased is a friend or loved one then you will hear sad news in the near future.

Here's a song that calms me down when I get those scary, unpredictable and disturbing dreams.

Priscilla Ahn
Dream

I was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little home for me.
I played pretend between the trees, and fed my house guests bark and leaves,

and laughed in my pretty bed of green.
I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest swing.
I had a dream.
Long walks in the dark through woods grown behind the park,

I asked God who I'm supposed to be.
The stars smiled down on me, God answered in silent reverie. I said a prayer and fell asleep.
I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest tree.
I had a dream.
Now I'm old and feeling grey. I don't know what's left to say about this life I'm willing to leave.
I lived it full and I lived it well, there's many tales I've lived to tell. I'm ready now, I'm ready now, I'm ready now to fly from the highest wing.
I had a dream
