Dead Pool

Having a husband who's into comic books since he was a little boy require that I be present in movies about heroes - mutant or not. For our post-Valentines date (yes, we do not go out on the 14th) John and I watch Dead Pool at Greenhills Cinema.

Dead Pool is definitely funny! Why? It's hard to make my husband laugh but he was laughing at this movie. I can hear him even if I was napping on the part where Wade Winston Wilson was being subjected to a rogue  experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopting the alter ego Deadpool.

I like this movie but Dead Pool is not your ordinary superhero movie.  Note to parents: make sure your kid or kids below 16 won't sneak in cinemas and pretend to be 16  because  it's certainly not for the kiddies because they use many foul-mouthed, dick and sick jokes that are flamboyantly vulgar . There's also many frontal nudity and butt shots.

Deadpool, who's real name is Wade Winston Wilson, was a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary.  Dead Pool is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. It was created by artist/writer Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, the character first appeared in The New Mutants #98. Wade Wilson, a terminally-ill mercenary who is tricked into undergoing a life-saving procedure to activate his latent healing power, orchestrated by a criminal mastermind (Ed Skrein). The experiment works, but not without leaving Wilson horribly disfigured and out for revenge.Yes, hubby knows all about this, he has those comics! John said, " Ryan Reynolds suits the character of Deadpool.
Directed by Tim Miller; with Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein. The R-rated "Deadpool" has taken the box office by storm with a record of $135 million on its opening weekend.
