Gods of Egypt

After 2 months of preparing for Occasions of Joy's 6th Outreach/Anniversary, it was a treat to see my favorite Gerard Butler again in the big screen, via the movie Gods of Egypt.

The movie revolves around 5 main characters, Set (Gerard Butler) the merciless god of darkness, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites), and the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Bek, hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, forms an unlikely alliance with Horas. Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

I like this movie a lot, imagine I didn't sleep even with a running time of 2 hour and 7 minutes. It is PG-13, but don't worry moms and dads, no frontal nudity, just a bit of sexiness from Butler, Waldau and Yung. I'm not going to spoil the movie for you, just go ahead and watch it. For action and a lot of computer-generated  images and effects your children will like Gods of Egypt.

Director: Alex Proyas, Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Elodie Yung, Geoffrey Rush
