Hotel Jen Manila

Hotel Jen used to be Traders Hotel; before it was Traders it was Holiday Inn first.  This hotel is specially close to my heart because I used to handle their health and maintenance account when I was working with Medicard back in 2003. More than that, I have vivid happy memories visiting Holiday Inn when I was a little girl because my Aunt Celing worked there for a long time until she decided to stay in London for good.

Last Saturday, after 13 years since I last set foot, I revisited the place, now as Hotel Jen Manila. My family, which we call #Mendiolables, find Hotel Jen as kid and family friendly hotel. They have comfortable rooms and other amenities conducive for family adventure. Their service is authentic, which made us feel at ease and very much welcome.

Two weeks prior to our staycation at Hotel Jen has been tough and rough due to health issues of my father.  After an overnight stay, we were all refreshed and ready to face the rigors of every day life. They also cater for conferences, weddings and all occasions parties. If you like the night life, Hotel Jen is surrounded by arcades, bars and restaurants, and a short drive away from business centres and districts.

Since Holy Week is happening next week, you might want to book at Hotel Jen and experience how devout catholics celebrate by visiting the walled city of Intramuros and San Agustin Church, the Spanish church that was one of the few buildings to survive bombing in World War II. In the days leading up to Easter Monday, you’ll see the parish putting finishing touches to floats for the Intramuros Easter Parade. Mass in this mesmerising location is also quite moving, but expect services in Filipino. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are holidays in Manila, and many restaurants and shops close.
