Hotel Jen used to be Traders Hotel; before it was Traders it was Holiday Inn first. This hotel is specially close to my heart because I used to handle their health and maintenance account when I was working with Medicard back in 2003. More than that, I have vivid happy memories visiting Holiday Inn when I was a little girl because my Aunt Celing worked there for a long time until she decided to stay in London for good.
Last Saturday, after 13 years since I last set foot, I revisited the place, now as Hotel Jen Manila. My family, which we call #Mendiolables, find Hotel Jen as kid and family friendly hotel. They have comfortable rooms and other amenities conducive for family adventure. Their service is authentic, which made us feel at ease and very much welcome.

Two weeks prior to our staycation at Hotel Jen has been tough and rough due to health issues of my father. After an overnight stay, we were all refreshed and ready to face the rigors of every day life. As true lovers of life, we highly recommend Hotel Jen for your next staycation. Let Hotel Jen capture that moment for you and your love ones because there are plenty of reasons why you should try #ThatJenFeeling we experienced. Let me enumerate...
1. A 4-star hotel, Hotel Jen, proudly the newest hotel brand in the Shangri-La Group! With Shang-La Group, you know that sevice is best!
2. A tower block from Rizal Park, 5-minute walk from both the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Manila Bay, means perfect view!

5. We slept like babies because of Hotel Jen's comfortable beds, and that perfect pillows!
6. Contemporary rooms and suites offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges, as well as desks, tea and coffeemakers, and safes. I specifically like that they have iron!
7. They allow outside food inside the hotel rooms, because they value specific needs of their guests.
8. Juan and I enjoyed the outdoor pool. They also have an exercise room and offers massage treatments upon request.

9. The warm service form Hotel Jen staff and higher ups. And the vibe and energy of the place!
10. Fast, free WiFi that kept us connected everywhere. No need to contact their I.T Dept. The 220 VAC universal outlets allowed all of us to charge our respective gadgets. 24-hour in-room Order-In for whenever you’re feeling peckish. They also cater for conferences, weddings and all occasions parties. If you like the night life, Hotel Jen is surrounded by arcades, bars and restaurants, and a short drive away from business centres and districts.
Since Holy Week is happening next week, you might want to book at Hotel Jen and experience how devout catholics celebrate by visiting the walled city of Intramuros and San Agustin Church, the Spanish church that was one of the few buildings to survive bombing in World War II. In the days leading up to Easter Monday, you’ll see the parish putting finishing touches to floats for the Intramuros Easter Parade. Mass in this mesmerising location is also quite moving, but expect services in Filipino. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are holidays in Manila, and many restaurants and shops close. Bring your children at Hotel Jen and let them join egg-citing Easter activities. For details and reservation, call (02) 795 8888. Hotel Jen is located at 3001 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay, Manila.
I could be wrong but if my memory served me right, Traders Hotel was where the 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" contestants checked in for an overnight stay before the actual Game Show. My husband was lucky enough to be included in the Top 10 when it was still shown on Channel 13. It would be great to visit this hotel again with the kids.
