Asia Pop Comic Con 2016

Not even Friday's traffic and heavy downpour of rain can stop my husband and I from storming SMX Convention Center in Pasay City for Asia Pop Comic Con 2016!  This all things pop and geeky at the event is slated from today til Sunday (August 26 to 28).


Headlining this three-day event are some of your favorite movies and television series: Nicholas Hoult (X-Men and Mad Max: Fury Road), Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries and The Originals), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones and Skins), and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things – A Netflix Original Series).  Autographs and selfies, and groufies as well, is allowed with your favorite star (special tickets are on sale for this).

Artist Simon Legno, co-founder of the worldwide sensation tokidok: and Devilrobots, the Japanese art group famous for the iconic To-Fu Oyako character cast. Check out the booths of Comicave Studios, Great Toys Online, IDstar, Gaming Library, Filbar’s. Cross, Big Boys Store, and Ban Kee, a 1/2 scale handcrafted bronze replica of the 75th Anniversary Tribute Statue of Captain America in Brooklyn, New York!

Comic veterans Mike Zeck, Ken Lashley, and Billy Tan will be signing autographs along with Filipino comic legend himself, Whilce Portacio. Cebulski, Marvel’s Senior VP of Creative and Creator Development will once again grace event. J-Rock anison legend Hiroshi Kitadani of JAM Project, will be performing solo. Jason Palmer’s remarkably expressive works will be on display such as, Star Wars, Firefly, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, Castle, Doctor Who, and many more. Meet beauty vlogger Say Tioco and the famoous Enciso sisters (bloggers’ Vern and Verniece) and listen to their talks on everything beautiful - makeup and life! Alodia Gosiengfiao and Myrtle Sarrosa will be joined by international cosplayers Riddle, Ani-Mia, Lindze Merritt, and Yugana Seshi Uon for the Manila leg of the CAGE cosplay competition. Watch the never-before-seen footage outside of San Diego Comic Con of Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange film at APCC Manila’s Hall M.
