I've learned about tawid Silver thru Diego, one of the three sons of Mr. and Mrs. Rimando in 2005. Diego was one of the graduating Architecture Students from UP Diliman who designed our room in 2004. I've been planning to visit and feature Tawid Silver for a time. Finally last Wednesday, even if it's such a short notice, Dan the youngest son and Tita Baby accommodated the #Mendiolables.
Tawid (pronounced as ta-wid) is an Ilocano-Igorot term for pamana or passover or handover. This tawid word was cheerfully explained by Mrs. Baby Rimando, the owner of Tawid Silver in Baguio.
Tawid Silver is a silver jewelry making family business of the Rimando’s that was started by Tita Baby 20 or more years ago. I must say that in terms of quality and craftsmanship, Tawid Silver's products are amongst the best I've seen from the many silver companies not just in Baguio but in Manila as well.
Tita Baby and Dan toured us inside their showroom and workshop where we saw how their skilled craftsmen make their one-of-a-kind silver heirloom.
Before saying goodbye, Tita Baby opened her home and handed me a silver earrings and choco flakes for the kids. Their home is field with artworks and photos of their family.
If you'd like to order and own beautiful pieces of silver, contact Dan at 09175240230. Going to Tawid Siver is a bit hard especially if the gps isn't responding well. Plus their driveway is steep so I suggest you call Dan first at 09175240320 for directions.
