Rustan's in Shangri-La Plaza is the most convenient mall for us #Mendiolables. By car (without traffic) it's 15 minutes away for our place. If I don't like to drive, I can commute using FX which is only P20 per person. When I feel like saving more, I can take a jeepney which is only P8. If I want to burn calories, I'd walk. Imagine zero fare and less fats (wink)!
Shopping at Rustan's is fun because they carry brands that my family like. The most important of all, this department store trains their staff well. Sales personnel are knowledgeable of the products they're selling, plus they are well-mannered.
The Tantoco family is behind the Rustan's retail empire. It was started by Bienvenido and Gliceria Tantoco in the 1950s, when they sold luxury goods out of their home, creating their flagship department store business. The family and its members now also own Stores Specialists Inc. (which holds the local licenses of everything from Aerosoles to Zara and more).
Rustan's was the first in the country's retail industry to introduce a customer loyalty program, "Frequent Shoppers Plus"
