True Value Kitchen Appgrade with Chef Louise Emmanuelle Mabulo

She was just 12 or 13 when I first met in an event. Such a beautiful girl with so much passion for cooking! And there I was, a mom of three, with zero knowledge about cooking Pinoys favorite adobo, watching her cook in front of a big crowd.

I am talking about Chef Louise Emmanuelle Mabulo! She landed as the Pinoy Junior Master Chef finalist some 5 years ago (if I'm not mistaken).

Today she is an Ambassador for cooking and kitchen appliances and also for Operation Smile. I was happy to see her at the True Value Kitchen Appgrade in Shangri-La Mall. She's already 18 and have grown prettier and taller. Despite her success, I like that she has remained humble and still as accommodating as when the first time I saw her. This time Juancho was with me. When I introduced Juan to Chef Louise, Juan immediately said, "She's in the Nickolodeon commercial as one of the talented young people".

Although she was raised in the United Kingdom, she remains simple and a loving daughter to her parents. Aside from that she delights in giving back by helping local charities and organizations

3. May FDA license,
4. Hindi nagmi-misclaim na HALAL certified (kahit on-going na ang application ng certification ng Lite as HALAL),
5. Hindi nagbibigay ng false claims sa ingredients para lang makabenta,
6. To top it all, may award na nagpapatunay ng quality ng produkto, hindi lang isa kundi tatlo pa!

Paano nga ba nakakapayat ang Lite Premium Health Drink 16in 1???
First is DETOXIFICATION because of the potent herbs and vegetables included in the formulation. Its like consuming high amount of vegetables that will result to a high fiber diet which will cleanse your body toxins esp in the colon. Very big help to people who does not take too much veggies, unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits, constipated and those with the dangerous visceral fats.

Next there is also APPETITE SUPPRESANT and LESS HUNGER CRAVINGS because of garcinia cambogia, white kidney bean, yerba mate, which raises serotonin (body chemical that makes you feel hungry), hinders breakdown of carbohydrates making you feel full.

There is also an effect of INCREASED METABOLIC RATE and DIURESIS because of garcinia cambogia,  lcarnitine, green tea, yerba mate, ginseng, turmeric and hibiscus (kindly refer to the product info indicated in the box).

After the detoxification, skin will BRIGHTEN and REJUVENATE with the help of lglutathione, collagen and acai berry.

Usual effect is regular and lighter bowel lalo na ung mga hindi pa nakapagdetox before tlagang ilalabas nila lahat ng dumi through poop and sweat. Tapos minsan wala na gana kumain at lesser cravings resulting to weight loss. Also remind your clients to drink 2 - 3 liters of water to assist in flushing out the toxins.

Chef Xavier Btesh at The Maya Kitchen

French cuisines made easy to prepare for the Filipino Kitchen by Chef Xavier Btesh at The Maya Kitchen held last July 22, 2017 at The Maya Kitchen Culinary Arts Center.

Sharing here the recipe of Chef Xavier Btesh:

Marseille Seafood Soup

4 pieces tomatoes
3 mugs fish broth
1 mug fish fillet, sliced into chunks
1 mug seafood (you can use shrimps, clam, squid or whatever you prefer)
1 teaspoon Pernod alcohol (you can use a teacup of diced fennel as a substitute, but unfortunately no local alcohols has the same taste)
1 piece small onion, sliced
1/3 teaspoon saffron powder

Choose a combination of your favorite kinds of seafood and fish.  Just make sure to remove the bones, skin and shells.  Peel tomatoes.  Slice them into four wedges.
In a large pot heat your broth and bring to a boil.
Set a handful of seafood aside.

Add tomatoes, fish chunks and the rest of your ingredients to your broth.  Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes without covering your pot to allow your liquid to reduce.  After 30 minutes, remove from heat, and pour the soup into the blender (you might have to this a few times depending the amount of soup).  Blend well on full power dntil soup is smooth.  Pour soup back into the pot through a fine strainer.    Use a wooden spoon to help press the soup through the strainer, allowing all the liquids through.  Set the fleshy residue that is left in the strainer aside.  Add the rest of your seafood into the soup, along with the Pernod, and pepper to taste.  Stir and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.  Serve hot.

Salad Nicoise

2 pieces peeled tomatoes
1 picce spring onion, thinly chopped
Half a red bell pepper
Half green bell pepper
5 pieces small red reddish, thinly sliced
10 pieces green French beans
5 pieces black pitted olives, sliced
1 piece hard-boiled egg cut into quarters
 1 espresso cup olive oil
½ espresso cup red wine vinegar
Half a can canned tuna in water or 5 marinated anchovy fillets salt & pepper.

Remove the edges of your French beans.  Steam beans in a bamboo basket or a strainer over apot of boiling water for about ten minutes (or until they are aldente).  Set aside to cool.

Take the rest of your vegetables and rinse under clear water.  Remove any wilted parts and core and seed the bell peppers.  Dice your bell peppers, peel and slice your tomatoes, slice the egg into four quarters and cut your green beans into 1.5 inch lengths.  Drain the tuna or the anchovies.

In a large bowl, place 2 pinches of salt and a pinch of black pepper.  Add the sliced spring onions, green beans, bell peppers, radish and tomatoes.  Then add your drained anchovies or drained tuna and top with the sliced olives.  Pour the olive oil and the red wine vinegar cover your salad, cover with cling film, and leave in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.  Just before serving, toss well and garnish with hard-boiled egg sliced.

Authentic Pasta Carbonara

Half of a handful of Linguini (about 80 to 120 grams)
1 piece egg yolk
1 espresso cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
½ espresso cup boiling pasta water
1 pinch salt
1 dash olive oil

Cook your linguini.  Set aside some pasta water and strain.  Pour a dash of olive oil on your noodles and toss.  Place pasta water, egg yolk, cheese and the pepper in a bowl and quickly whisk with an eggbeater.  Poor sauce on hot pasta, toss and serve immediately.

Boeuf Bourguignon

 2 mugs beef chunks
1 piece onion, thinly sliced
1 piece garlic clove, peeled
1 teaspoon tomato paste
4 pieces button mushrooms or;
2 pieces small Portabello mushrooms
2 pieces carrors, peeled and sliced
1 espresso cup bacon chunks
1 ½ mugs beef broth
2 teaspoons white flour
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 pinch clove powder
2 mugs good red wine
Salt and pepper to tasteand bacon.  When onions
½ espresso cuo butter, melted

Set a frying pan on medium-high heat.  Place in half your butter, and saute your onions turn translucent, transfer onion and bacon to a cast iron pan on high heat along with the rest of the butter.  Add the chunks of the meat and toss well.  Sprinkle flour, and stir, making sure to scrape the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon.  Add the beef broth, wine, and all the other ingredients except the mushrooms.  Mix well. Reduce to very low heat and cook for three hours, stirring every once in a while so that your ingredients wont stick to the bottom of the pan.  After 2 ½ hours, add your mushrooms.  If the sauce reduces too much, add a bit of wine or broth.  After 3 hours, your iconic French Stew will be ready.  Serve it with boiled potatoes or rice.

Milanese Risotto
2 espresso cups risotto rice
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 espresso cup white dry wine
Half a small onion, peeled and chopped
1 ½ mugs hot chicken broth
1 espresso cup mascarpone Italian cream
1 espresso cup parmesan cheese, grated
½ teaspoon saffron
Salt and pepper

In a second large pan, heat olive oil on medium-high setting until it smokes.  Add onions and saute until translucent.  Pour in rice and toss well for 3 minutes.  Rice should be well coated in oil.  Add your saffron and white wine.  Toss for 4  to 5 minutes giving the rice time to absorb wine.  Use a ladle to slowly pour a bit of broth into the risotto base.  Stir and repeat each time the liquid is absorbed.  After about 15 to 20 minutes, the rice should be almost cooked.  The only way to know for sure to taste it should not be aldente but soft.  If not, add a bit more broth.  Add a pinch of salt and pepper per person.  Once the rice is cooked and tender, reduce the heat to a minimum.  Add your cheese and mascarpone cream.  Mix until the cream and cheese have melted.  Serve immediately.

Chocolate Mousse

5 pieces eggs
220 grams dark chocolate, broken into small pieces
1 espresso cup melted butter
1 espresso cup sugar
1 pinch salt

Separate your eggs and set aside.

Melt yor butter in the microwave oven (make sure to use  a microwave-safe cup).  Place your chocolate  pieces and a tablespoon of water in a microwave-safe bowl and melt for 2 minutes, mix chocolate and melt again for 1 minute.  Mix so that it makes a nice paste.  Mix in butter and set aside.

Using an electric mixer, whip the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they are really stiff.  Beat your egg yolks, adding in sugar and your chocolate mixture.  Mix well.  Gently pour your chocolate batter into the stiff whites.  Once the egg whites are completely incorporated, pour into a serving bowl and cover with aluminum foil.  Leave in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

Denim Days at SM

SM Supermalls had a special screening of War of The Planet of the Apes at SM Aura Director's Club in celebration of Denim Days at SM. Spotted at the event are Jenny Miller, Jerome Ponce, Manuel Chua, Editors of magazines and broadsheet and social media influencers.

Angela, Adela, Ina, and Janny of “Philippines’ Next Top Model (PNTM): High Street” when asked had interesting stories to tell about their well-loved and cherished denim pieces. Recently, these four strikingly beautiful ladies were hailed the best among the 12 finalists of the country’s premier model-making fashion reality show.

Landing on the top spots of the competition continues to open a more doors for the girls. One of their latest exciting engagement is to be the alluring faces of SM Denim Days – a month-long denim festival offering shoppers great denim finds and exciting events in 63 SM malls nationwide. Find out what is next for these ladies as they also share their denim stories.

Angela Lehmann, 25
Prior to wining PNTM Cycle 2, Fil-Swiss Angela was an interior design student who enjoyed a little bit of farming. She is a vegetarian and likes to eat organic. Though Angela was not really into modelling before she joined the competition, she wanted to prove that having a condition like scoliosis did not hold her back from pursuing a career in the industry.

She dislikes using single-use plastics or disposables utensils, straws and water bottles. Now that she’s the newest ambassador of SM Woman, she wants to use her voice to raise awareness on environmental concerns such as waste management and animal rights.

The oldest denim piece she owns is a denim jumper. “Actually, I’m unsure if the jumper is mine or my sister’s,” said Angela. She just knows that they have been arguing over it for years now. The PNTM Cylcle 2 winner also loves a good denim jacket. “It never goes out of style and goes with almost goes with every outfit,” she added.

Adela-Mae Marshall, 19
Modeling was never part the plan when Adela’s family moved to the Philippines last year. The youngest of the 12 finalist, Adela only did one fashion show as a favor to her mom’s friend that somehow led her to doing seven commercials before joining PNTM.

Though she turned down a lot of modeling opportunities in her early teenage years due to lack of interest, Adela was eventually inspired by her mom who formerly did modelling and acting in the Philippines back then.

Her oldest denim is a pair of flared/bootleg jeans that she got from her mom. “It just proves that fashion comes in cycles and good denim never goes out of style,” said Angela. She is also fond of denim jackets because they can immediately dress down a nice outfit but also can give it a bit of swag.

Ina Guerrero, 23
Ina may not look like your typical Filipina, but she is 100% Bicolana. When she was younger, she used to spend summer vacations with her family in the Bahamas where here parents both worked as nurses. She has always enjoyed the beach and the salty breeze and sand in her hair.

Ina was 17 years old then when she started joining beauty pageants, bagging already a couple of titles until she tried national competitions. Ina was one of the top 13 finalists in the 2014 Miss World Philippines, and a candidate of the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas. Now, she’s taking time to pursue her Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

She owns a denim jacket she has had since high school. “It was a Christmas gift from my Ninang. You see that is the best part of denim, it will never go out of style,” said Ina. Among other denim pieces, she favors ripped jeans the most because they look edgy, matching best her personality.

Janny Medina, 23
Since she loved watching America’s Next Top Model when she was a kid, being part of PNTM was a dream come true for Janny. Before joining the competition, she was already a full-time model for various events and commercials. According to her, she is doing all this for her son.

Janny aspires to become a celebrated androgynous model in the country. She aims to continue her modeling career, especially after her valuable exposure from reality show, and also maybe one day become a flight stewardess of an international airline.

When asked about her oldest denim piece, it was a pair of blue denim pants. “It’s from my eldest sister. [She] passed it on to my second eldest sister, then passed on me. The pants are already 8 years old,” explained Janny. She is also fond of tattered denim pants. “They give off a laid back and relaxed vibe that is similar to my personality,” she added.

Like the final four of PNTM Cycle 2, most people would find themselves nurturing a mysterious and emotional bond with their well-loved denim. Denim wear has evolved over the years to provide both functionality and timeless style. What once started as a rugged workwear, denim now became a wardrobe staple, ranging from denim jeans of various cuts to shirts, shorts, jackets, and skirts – becoming also an expression of the wearer’s mood and personality.

BTS Manila Concert

John and I watched concerts in the pasr but to tell you honestly we both rather buy a bluray and watch the concert at home because we dislike long the long lines and waiting time.

Last May, John and I had to brave the traffic, long lines and waiting time for two consecutive days because of BTS Manila Concert. It wasn't for us, by the way. It's because our daughter is a big fan BTS. Julia didn't aske for any gift for her birthday and Christmas, all she wanted was to warth this concert for two days. We gave in because Julia is a good daughter. Plus, she's always an honor honor student. She deserves all the effort we put in for two days.

Praiaz Shoes

This Praiaz Shoes was given as a raffle prize some four years ago at MomPreneur Event. It has been very effective in all my trips, be it land or water. Lately, I noticed I can actually feel even small stones when I step on it. The inevitable has come. I have to let go. How can I let go if I actually can't let go?

Ang drama, hahaha!

Stella Purse

It was mostly raining in El Nido Palawan during our 4-day imprompty trip. Though we weren't able to visit other islands because of the strong current, it never dampen my spirit. Color yellow proved to add sunshine to a gloomy day. Credits to my new baby, Stella Purse. I didn't have to do so many OOTDs in El Nido. Just me and my Stella Purse was enough to confidently strut the charming shores, beaches and islands of El Nido.

This Stella Purse was given by Ms. Maristel for my 44th birthday. Thanks Ma'am!

El Nido Palawan via AirSwift

I have been attending Travel Madness for years but I always end up buying nothing. It's either because I get dizzy or bored with the long lines.

For this year, I was looking for an affordable Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong Malaysia and Japan airfare. I got a one way ticket for five persons to Singapore for P12,000 and P10,000 One way ticket for five persons to Kuala Lumpur.

The El Nido Palawan via AirSwiftI airfare was in no way planned. For the second day of the travel madness I've seen AIrswift booth and talked to whoever is available to talk. I didn't but anything. but I had no one to ask if P5,000 two-way ticket from Manila-El Nido-Manila is cheap enough.  On the last day of the travel I met a womn who's also named Joy.  She told me to get the tickets because it was on a sale.

To cut the long story short, John and I flew to Palawan via Airswift.  What can I say about Airswift?

1. Friendly staff from Domestic Airport to Lio Airport
2. Snacks were provided from Manila Domestic Airport and in Lio Beach
3. Departure and arrival were on time.
4. Smooth travel despite heavy rains
5. Clean and spacious Lio Airport
6. Airport is near the town

Note: This is not a sponsored trip

44th Birthday

Known by family and friends as someone who likes throwing impromptu parties and get together, they were  surprised when I said no celebration for my 44th birthday. Even my husband couldn't believe it. John said I'm just having birthday blues.

In fact, I was actually deeply happy turning a year older that I wanted to quietly celebrate it by sleeping the whole day. Why? You see I lost my mother in 1993. Mama was just 43. After losing Mama, my goal since then is to live longer than her.

What's my birthday wish? Number one, peace in Marawi. Secondly, to live longer than my father whom we lost last year at the age of 66.

Thanks to Nana Nadal for this lovely birthday cake by Hizon's Catering. The cake prompted John and I to have an instant celebration at home.

Also thanks to my daughter Kulia for buying aMy birthday wish, to live lo

Party Like No Other

I used to be very active in events planning and hosting. I have probably organized hundreds of parties from weddings, birthdays, reunions and corporate events from 1990s up to 2011. Though I still host and organize events from time to time, I semi-retired in accepting big number of clients when we built our house in 2013.

For years, many of my clients preferred Hizon's Catering so I'm familiar with Hizons food. I've also frequented Hizon's headquarters in Quezon City to bring clients for food tasting.

Having affinity with Hizon's Catering, I couldn't say no to Nana's invite to grace her event even if it fell on my natal day. When all I wanted to do on my  44th birthday was to sleep the whole day, I got the best surprise I have never experienced before. Wala pang nakapag surprise sa akin. Akala ko sa 50th birthday ko pa mararanasan ito, sa 44th pala! Thanks Nana and Hizons. Truly, Hizon's Catering throws party like no other!

Before my friends and relatives feel bad, I'd like to say it again, this was not my personal party. This was a quadruple bash exclusively for bloggers to showcase Hizon’s Catering versatility through a different party occupied each of the four corners of Oasis Manila’s Pavilion.

The wedding was formal and featured an extensive buffet of soup, salad, and main course options plus a carving station. In contrast was the no-frills breakfast seminar set-up which had a spread of omelette filling choices and a cooking station. Appealing to the child in all the guests was the circus-inspired look of the kiddie party matched by a menu of finger food that suit the palate of tiny tots. It was all glam at the awards night section where hor d’oeuvres were passed around by waiters and a dessert spread was laid out to the attendees. The four events provided a glimpse of how Hizon’s Catering can make your dream event happen.

The event was made possible with the support of Oasis Manila, Advent Light & Sounds, Sentimental Groove Band, Bars Datiles Design Props, Star Balloon, Enzuno Cakes, The Photoman, Keon Salon, Jerome Yu LED Projector, and Myra Lorenzo who emceed the program.

Being in catering industry for the past 27 years, Hizon’s Restaurant and Catering Inc., is one of best caterer in the country, specializing in weddings, private parties and corporate events. As Ms. Baby Hizon, Hizon’s Catering family matriarch who started it all takes a backseat, her son Joseph is now headlining their business as General Manager. Joseph's many innovative projects within the company such as implementing a computerized system makes Hizon's Catering stronger than ever.  It was great to meet Joseph who celebrated his birthday just a day after mine.

Joseph is a graduate of Economics at the De La Salle University (DLSU) in Manila. He finished his Master’s Degree in Economics at the Asian Institute of Management and  has been helping his mother in managing the company.

Hizon’s Catering’s operations is housed in a fully equipped 2,500-square meter commissary in Quezon City where a trained culinary team creates mouth watering treats as well as hygienic preparation to meet the demand of its customers through a diverse local and international cuisines. Dishes are whipped up by the kitchen team headed by Chef Simon Dayrit.

Diode Treatment at The Beauty Lounge by Bianca Festejo

I was made fun of, in short bullied, when I was young because of my short and muscular legs. It took a toll on me so I avoided (as much as I could) wearing shorts. If I wear skirts back then it has to be below the ankle.

Now at 44, (yes, I'm celebrating "doble kwatro" birthday today) I flaunt these legs feeling like a 6 footer beauty queen. Bakit ba, this Jolas legs has carried me for 44 years and will carry me to another 44 years to places I have never been.

Thanks to The Beauty Lounge by Bianca Festejo, my legs are almost hair-free in just 2 sessions of Diode!

Note: I do not have hairy legs but I'm annoyed to see patches of hair in different directions. Number of sessions may vary from person to person (legs to legs, hehehe!)

Learn more about Diode by calling The Beauty Lounge by Bianca Festejo at 0917 847 3531 or visit them at Petron Station, C5, Diego Silang, Taguig.

Makansutra Megamall

I do not frequent the second floor of SM Megamall Building A until I discovered Makansutra.

Makansutra is an outdoor place that has different food stalls, originally from Singapore. It was brought to Manila by the man who started this hawkers, KF Seetoh. He has partnered with local celebrity chef JJ Yulo.

There are so many Asian dishes you can choose from, such as Thai, Chinese Korean and Indonesian. My favorite is Geylang Claypot Roce. Consisting of  jasmine rice, chicken, Chinese sausages and other premium meat, this is a already. For unique drinks, try Kopi teh and even Milo Dinosaur.

If you're into a variety of Asian Cusines, visit Makansutra. You might also enjoy the games they have (conditions apply before one can play these games)

SpiderMan Homecoming

When my husband said the other day that Spiderman is already showing, I told myself, okay I've  got more than an hour to rest (meaning sleep) inside the movie house. Don't get me wrong, I'm not killjoy or anything. It's just that I didn't like the last Spiderman and the performance of Andrew Garfield.

Nuff said. Did I like Spider-Man: Homecoming? The movie didn't bore me hence, I was awake the whole time. My hubby's because I didn't waste money😁 I didn't even take a 15 minute  nap, so yes I like the movie.

Marissa Tomei isn't the Aunt May we are all accustomed, she's way too sexy for my taste.

Robert Downey Jr,, as always, is the goodlooking, suave Tony Stark.

Michael Keaton, as a villain, made the movie interesting. Michael didn't have to look weird or different to be an effective nemesis. Three hearts for my favorite My Life actor! 💟💜💖

As for Tom Holland, the second Brit to do Spider-Man, he fits the role of a 15 year old high school student.

I love Captain America' s scenes, especially at the end credits, so stay until they open the lights.

Tyron and Tanya's Birthday

I lost count as to how many inaanaks (Godchildren) I have now. Among the youngest is Tyron, who just celebrated his first birthday along with his sister Tanya, who celebrated her 6th birthday.

Although it was a rainy night, Tyron and Tanya's Birthday was a successful one as their family, relatives and friends joined them for fun, games and lots of prizes!

We used to have a lot of Makahiya in our backyard when I was a young kid. But due to influx of people and construction of houses and buildings, I only get to see Makahiya when we go to provinces.

Yesterday, Juan was happy to announce, "Mom, it's evident that your garden is getting better because there are bees and Makahiya already". Well, I wasn't happy with the bees because I was once bitten. My face was swollen for a week and I wasn't able to go to school. I was excited with Makahiya because it was part of my playtime with friends. Nen and I can spend hours and hours just touching Makahiya, watch it close and open, and repeat the whole process until it was time for us to go home for snack.

Makahiya (mimosa pudica), it is also called bashful mimosabecause the leaflets fold together on touching, warming and shaking. When the leaflets fold together on touching, they reopen in about 10 minutes. The leaflets fold together in the early evening and reopens at sunrise. It is called bashful or sensitive  The phenomenon is called seismonastic movement due to a rapid change in turgor pressure and changes in membrane permeability in the pulvini cells in the leaf regions with rapid movement of calcium ions. At night, the leaves also fold and bend, termed nyctonastic movements (reaction to absence of light).

Makahiya is a common weed in the Philippines and often found in open, moist, waste places, open grasslands and open thickets, at low and medium altitudes in settled areas. Its uses includes, roots as aphrodisiac, for bladder gravel and similar urinary complaints,.as diuretic, dysentery and dysmenorrhea. The  entire plant in decoction used as alterant and antiasthmatic, hypertension, menorrhagia, glandular swelling, sore throat and hoarseness, used in asthma and as expectorant. Leaves for glandular swellings, for piles and fistula, to cure bruises and diabetes.

It was my late Lola Ebeng who introduced me to this wonder plant when I was just a little girl, forty-two years ago to be exact. Lola made sure my siblings and I take a spoonful of freshly squeezed Oregano whenever we have cough and colds. I hated that experience but it was actually very effective. Since Lola and Mama have long been gone and the passing of time created a fast-paced life, it led us to rely mostly on pharmacy-bought medicines.

Now that I'm trying to go herbal, I'm happy to see that my small Oregano, which was given last year as an event invite by Lysol, is now bountiful.

Oregano is a species of Origanum, belonging to the mint family (Lamiaceae). Its name comes from the Greek words oros (mountain) and ganos (joy). Oregano typically grows 50 cm tall and has purple leaves around 2 to 3 centimeters in length. The chemicals that give the herb its unique and pleasant smell are thymol, pinene, limonene, carvacrol, ocimene, and caryophyllene.

According to The Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, oregano is also used for the following illnesses and conditions like Cold, Muscle pain, Acne, Dandruff,  Bronchitis, Toothache,  Bloating, Headaches, Heart Conditions, Allergies, Intestinal parasites, Earache, Fatigue,  Repelling insects, Menstrual cramps.

However, it's important to note that further high quality study results are necessary to confirm these claims.

My late Lola Ebeng was a fan of the late Julie Vega. At exactly 6pm, no one can touch the television because Lola has to have her dose of AnaLiza drama series. My siblings and I were able to watch with Lola but as soon as my father arrived from work, we pretended not to be interested in watching because Papa never like telenovelas. Papa would often say, it's too long and dragging and that there's already too many problems in the world to waste our time watching something that can be finished in an hour instead of years.

I probably learned it from my father so I was never a fan of any drama series until I talked to Ate Jo (my sister-in-law). She's so into Gong Yoo that she'd tell me not to disturb her from when Goblin starts playing at ABS-CBN.

I fely betrayed (lol), I got curious so I asked my daughter what this Goblin is all about. Julia said, "Mom I've been telling you months ago about Goblin. You should watch it so you know".

Long story short, I finished all 16 episodes in 1 week. I had headache because I refused to sleep just to see the ending of this series.

Did, I like it? Well, yeah! It's a love story, I love love stories! I like the cinematography, the view, the pa cute of Gong Yoo, and the song Beautiful Life.

Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Love story, Comedy

Cast: Gong Yoo - Kim Shin Kim Go-Eun - Ji Eun-Tak Lee Dong-Wook- Grim Reaper Yoo In-Na - SunnyYook Sung-Jae - Yoo Duk-Hwa

In ancient times, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) is an unbeatable general in wars, but the young King (Kim Min-Jae) is jealous of Kim Shin and kills him. Kim Shin becomes Dokkaebi (Goblin), possessing an immortal life. At first he thinks that he is blessed, but he realizes that he is cursed.

Closer to the present day, Kim Shin has waited 900 years for a human bride to end his immortal life. One night, he saves a dying pregnant woman (Park Hee-Von) who is destined to die. Meanwhile, the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-Wook) is unable to find the dead pregnant woman. The woman gives birth to a baby girl named Ji Eun-Tak (later played by Kim Go-Eun). 9 years later, Ji Eun-Tak lives with her mother and is able to see ghosts. One night, her mother suddenly dies. On that night, she meets the Grim Reaper.

In the present day, Ji Eun-Tak is a high school student. She still sees ghosts and hears their whisper of “Dokkaebi’s bride.” She now lives with her aunt’s family, but she is mistreated by them. On her birthday, Ji Eun-Tak sits by the sea with a lighted birthday cake. At that time, Kim Shin suddenly appears in front of her. Kim Shin does not know why, but he can hear her voice and appears in front of her against his will. Coincidentally, Kim Shin lives with the Grim Reaper at the same house.

Now, Kim Shin appears in front of her against his will, whenever she turns off the lights. One day, Ji Eun-Tak tells him that he is Dokkaebi and she is his bride.

What I Wore at ToyCon 2017

If given the right body and height like Allodia, I'd do cosplay every chance I get and be Wonderwoman, Catwoman, Black Widow, Baby Doll, Harley Quinn and Darna.

I once did HitGirl but that wasn't a cosplay at ToyCon, it was a contest held by Powerbooks. Since I wanted to win all those books at stake, I had to do what I had to do. I won 1st place and brought home the bacon (books of course, hehehe!)

For ToyCon 2017, I just wore black shirts to hide stubborn flabs!

Day 1: Wonderwoman Shirt bought at Robinsons for P349.94

I paired the Wonderwoman Shirt with black pants and canvass shoes
Day 2: Borrowed Starwars shirt from my daughter Julia. I paired it with my super old army/camou skirt
and gray Promod shoes

Day 3: Borrowed Starwars shirt from my daughter Julia. I paired it with my printed skirt
and white unbranded canvass shoes.
