Davao is a place I wanted to visit for many years even before President Duterte decided to run for presidency. I want to see how clean this place is. I actually wanted to spend New Year in Davao before because they don't use firecrackers to celebrate the festivities. I also wanted to see how disciplined Dabawenyos are.
During our stay, we've experienced how different the residents of Davao are as compared to Manilenos. We met a lot of kind people and three Angels from Davao are specially mentioned in this post.
First Angel, Tata. We met Tata in a multi cab we were riding going to Samal. We kept asking the driver directions going to Samal but he was having difficulty explaining. Tata respectfully joined our conversation teaching us what ride to take. We were surprised when she went down with us, waited for the right vehicle that will take us to Samal Island. She even talked to the driver to bring us safely to our destination.
Second Angel, Ma'am. We met her in the bus going to Samal. She gave us a lot of tips about Samal and Davao. We even talked about her life, family and previous work. We alighted the bus before her. It was 15 minutes ago when we learned we left our lunch in the bus. After 30 minutes, we saw Ma'am at La Vida Orchard carrying our food! She knew it was for lunch and she didn't hesitate to travel another way just to bring our food back.
Third Angel. Sahlee. We were strolling at SM Lanang at 1pm to kill time since our flight back to Manila is 11pm. When we reached the supermarket, there was a food tasting for 911 canned goods. Sahlee has a cheerful uplifted our tired bodies. She even suggested and arranged our dinner at Out of Nowhere. I was not able to take a video of Sahlee because we had so much time talking.
