JAPAN TOURIST VISA APPLICATION WITHOUT ANY GUARANTOR/SPONSOR:

Planning a trip to Japan? Here the things needed to accomplish on applying for JAPAN TOURIST VISA WITHOUT ANY GUARANTOR/SPONSOR:

1.  Make sure that your passport is valid for 6 months prior to your intended travel date, with at least two (2) blank pages. Any broken lamination in your passport will NOT be accepted.

2.  Fill up a duly accomplished Japan Visa Application Form. Print the Japan Visa Application Form in A4 size. You can either fill it out by hand or print.

3. Fill the form completely and properly. Do not forget your signature. Put Not Applicable or “N/A” in all spaces that are not applicable.

4. The sections that ask for airline and hotel name does NOT mean that you are required to book your airline and hotel beforehand because the embassy does NOT require applicants to book it before approval. Just write your intended airline to book with and the hotel that you plan to stay in. If you’re going to stay in different hotels, just pick one to write on the form.

5. High resolution photo, with size 4.5cm x 4.5 cm with white background is needed to be pasted on the Japan Visa Application Form.

6. The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines does NOT accept direct applications (unless you have a very special or emergency case). Choose an accredited travel agency to process your Japan Visa Application. A Japan Visa is FREE, however, travel agencies have processing fees. I paid P500/person to the agency at the Travel Fair in SMX.

7. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), formerly NSO, Birth Certificate must be an Original that has been issued within one (1) year. It must be acquired from the NSO main office or from Serbilis Outlet Centers nationwide. (This is NOT required for submission IF you have already been issued a Japan Visa before (old or still valid).

8. Baptismal Certificate  (must have complete address and telephone information of the church) and
School Record (Form 137) (must have complete address and telephone information of the school) can be submitted in case your birth certificate is not available or if your NSO is of “Late Registration”,

9. NSO Marriage Certificate is for married individuals. Make sure that it has been issued within one year. This is NOT required for submission IF you have already been issued a Japan Visa before (old or still valid).

10.  Bank Certificate. This must be an original copy from your bank which must be issued within the past 3 months.

11.  Proof of Income such as ITR (Form 2316/ 1700/ 1701/ 1702) original and photocopy in A4 paper.

12.  For employed, Certificate of Employment,  Proof of Income such as ITR (original and photocopy) in A4 paper.

13. For retired or senior citizens, submit your Bank Certificate and explain why you can’t submit an ITR.

14.  For self-employed,  provide latest ITR (Form 2316/ 1700/ 1701/ 1702) original and photocopy in A4 paper.

15.  For applicants with own business, submit your Business Registration issued by DTI / SEC and the company ITR. If you do NOT have an ITR, write a simple letter explaining why you’re unable to submit it (examples: if you are a new business, a new self-employed person, you are being taxed in another country, etc.)

16.  For OFWs, Provide tax exemption form from BIR, Certificate of Employment (or contract of employment)

17.  For unemployed persons, it is best that you have a guarantor/sponsor who can provide an ITR.

18.  Visa processing normally takes 2-5 business days so just chill while waiting for the outcome of your application.
