Lamon Center by Artists Alley

It was not in our plan to eat at Lamon Center by Artists Alley in Batanes. John and I actually didn't know anything about this cute coffee shop. We were supposed to eat at Kubo by Pension Ivatan but the guy in front was so rude we lost our appetite. So we walked around  the town proper looking for a place to have dinner when Jerish Alcoy called us.

We met Jerish a day earlier at Basco Lighthouse. He is an artist and a part-time tour guide from Batanes. I thought we wouldn't see him again but there he was at Lamon having dinner with his girlfriend, Jhem.

The four of us were having a good time when a lady recognized me. She is Julie from Bulacan. She's also staying in KenAdrians and recognized me (probably my jolly-loud voice😁. So the four became five, then six when the owner, Jo Jose joined in the fun!

The next day, as we were on our last day of tour, I invited husband and wife Engr. Bong and Mam Carol to try Lamon Center. Then along the road we met husband and wife Atty. Daye and Gil from Bulacan, and invited them too.

The quiet Batanes was beaming with laughter that night as we exchanged stories and jokes about life, love, work, Manila, family. One thing we all agreed upon, ANG GANDA NG BATANES!

What can I say about Lamon Center? Although they have limited menu, I definitely enjoyed their organic coffee! They also serve tsokolate, tea and other drinks. I also liked their rice meal (more like Singaporean food) and their kamote fries. Jo uses ingredients that is fresh from Batanes. She mostly buys from people growing plants in pots. I also super like that the fries is serve in a kamansi leaf.

Since Jo is an artist, Lamon Center has many of those art stuff hanged  on the walls.  Last but not  the least, I enjoyed talking to bubbly Joana! It felt like I was talking to myslef,  andami nya ding energy😁

If you wish to enjoy sipping coffee while enjoying the beautiful twon plaze, give Lamon a call at 0995 535 2588.
