3 Kinds of Friends

According to Greek philosopher and scientist, Aristotle, there are 3 Kinds of Friends you will meet in your lifetime, namely Friends of Utility, Friends of Pleasure and Friends of the Good.

Friends of Utility are those people who are on friendly terms mainly due to the benefits each brings to the table. They are commonly known as colleagues, peers, schoolmates, officemates and business partners.

Friends of Pleasure are those people who likes each other because of the enjoyment of hanging out due to common hobbies and interests.

Friends of the Good are the most important friends because they are usually long lasting. Friends of the good are hard to find and develop. These friends will always tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. This a friendship based upon respect, appreciation for each other’s qualities and brutal honesty.

I am indeed blessed for having Gigi Hasabulla as one of few Friends of the Good

“Wishing to be friends is quick work,
but friendship is a slow-ripening fruit”
- Aristotle
