Yoga Challenge

Yearly, every January to be exact, I'd enroll in a gym or any fitness clubs to strengthen my body and lose those bulges I've been keeping for many years. I have to admit I am lazy when it comes to exercise, I can only keep up in the gym up to a week. As a result, I gained 10 lbs!

At 45, I can now feel the negative effects of not exercising. This 2019, I did not enroll last January in fitness clubs but I did join Fitness First this May, all because my youngest son Juan helped Fitness First Sales Consultant Brian convinced me to. I felt challenged and now of my third week. Not anymore lazy but still struggling to manage my time to be able to be there for my Yoga Challenge. Though Yoga is the main reason why I enrolled in the first place, I've been doing cardio (by machine) exercises for 30 minutes and hoping to increase it as the days go.

There are many branches of yoga. I can't remember it all but this is the only exercise I'm mostly happy because it helps me achieve a sense of focus in various ways for it is relaxing and meditative.

More than 90 percent of people come to yoga for flexibility, stress relief, health, and physical fitness. But, for most people, their primary reason for doing yoga will change. My truth, since I was young I wanted to be a yoga teacher but because I have not been consistent attending classes I'm back to square 1.

I like yoga  because it benefits both my mind and body. It tones my core, which is my biggest problem. improves my focus and makes me feel more confident about myself.

Paolo of Chatime

Super dami ng milktea shops over the years but I remain loyal to Chatime not because I'm sponsored. They don't even know me, have not been invited in any of their events before. I just like their blend. Not too complicated, not too sweet, just the right mount of creaminess and sweetness.

This post is actually not about Chatime but one of their employees, Paolo. I super like Paolo because he is so cool as a cashier even under pressure. He is assigned in Megamall Branch, where it's always a blocksbuster type when it comes to customers buying a cup or two of Chatime Milktea.

Kuddos to Paolo who's always very nice and respectful, serving clients with a cute-shy smile!

Bean Box with Vicky

I saw Vicky's post in FB wearing a Hanbok and I thought she was in Korea. She told me the photos were taken at Bean Box and asked me to visit it. Actually many of my friends have invited me to visit Bean Box in the past when it opened a few years ago but I was too busy. Now that it's summer both Vicky and I have free time so we decided to have our post Mother's Day celebration in this place.

We only had Clubhouse Sandwich and an aloe vera drink, which we had to go since we both had lunch earlier at separately.

The place is kawaii, very cute and instagrammable. Hanbok is free to wear but they require diners to order first and pay. One order per person is a MUST. You will all be asked to provide a valid identification card.

For those persons with difficulty walking, you might find it hard to reach the place since they are located on the fourth floor. No escalators nor elevators available within the building.

I can't say anything about the food since the sandwich was already soggy when it reached home. Maybe on our next visit, I will do a review on the menu and pricing.

Special thanks to Josh for helping us with photos and vids. Meantime, please do enjoy Vicky and my kalokohan for this video. We are moms just havin' fun. Ang mahal ng rent ng Hanbok sa Korea, at least at Bean Box free, bibili ka lang nga muna ng food nila😀

Martell Chanteloup Philippine Launch

Martell Chanteloup Philippine Launch happened yesterday at Marina Bay Spa and Lifestyle. It was headed by their speaker and ambassador, Mr. Jean Baptiste Gourvil, who flew all the way from Malaysia.

This cognac is made of eaux de vie from four of the most prestigious cognac cruz. It is carefully blended by the Martell cellar master from up to 450 rare eaux de vie. Each personality is developed creating an aromatic and sensory balance in this unique blend. This is an ultra prestige cognacs and has limited stocks in the Philippines, with a retail price at around P22,000 per bottle.

This cognac represents a brilliant tribute to a historic place experience Martell Chanteloup with your senses: to the eye: see a dark amber, attractive hue that catches the light on the house: opens with fresh stone-fruit aromas such as bush peach, apricot and floral notes. when swirled, it moves through candied fruit like orange and lemon towards dried fruits such as raisins, almonds and nuts. Martell Chanteloup perspective definitely makes a strong aroma through its complexity. in the mouth: at first, soft and light at the palate. it progressively enriched by candied and dried fruit notes with subtle hints of blackcurrant. the balanced tenor of these aromas puts together the structure, elegance and power that leaves a lingering spice finish in the mouth.

Blackberry is Back

“The Art of Particularity” press launch introduced two young and driven Filipinos to represent the BlackBerry KEY2 LE—the icon for all, which has become the preferred smartphone for the new generation and young leaders of tomorrow.

Simone Rota, a football star and humanitarian, he played for the Azkals and is now with Kaya. was not able to make it to the event because he has a game in Singapore.

I came for this press launch for the second icon, whom I know personally to be a very friendly and pretty lady. She is Mela Sison Laxamana, Group Marketing Manager for Raintree Restaurants and Raintree Hospitality Group, currently handles 12 restaurants, five food parks, one hotel, and one household. This girl boss and icon for all is also known as a shoe-loving, cookie-eating lipstick junkie superstar. How does she manage to stay organized and productive? Mela shares, “With the help of my BlackBerry KEY2 LE, I’m able to get the job done.” She shares, “I specifically like the QWERTY feature because this makes me feel like I’m responding to my emails like I’m working on my laptop, and I get to respond in real time. This makes my work easier even when I’m out of the office.” Mela adds, “With my BlackBerry KEY2 LE, better workdays are at my fingertips!”

Both Mela and Simone agree that there are social phones for play and there’s the BlackBerry KEY2 LE—a productive work phone and indispensable tool of the trade to help you get things done efficiently. Indeed, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE is raising the bar to help you do more, different. Touch it. Feel it. Experience the rebirth of an icon Black is back with the launch of BlackBerry KEY2 and KEY2 LE.

Iconic design, reimagined Sleek and super modern, the KEY2 and KEY2 LE feature a diamond pattern, non-slip textured back, a 4.5- inch impact-resistant gorilla glass display, durable aluminum alloy frame, and the most intelligent BlackBerry keyboard ever. Redesigned with 20% larger keys and perfectly sculpted for more comfortable typing with the all-new speed key with 52 custom shortcuts, speeding you into action. Instead of just launching the clock, you can go straight to timer; instead of just opening your text messaging app you can go directly to composing a text message. The QWERTY keyboard is all about tactility and accuracy, not to mention that there’s just something uniquely satisfying when your fingertips glide over and hit those keys—unlike a glass keyboard which is prone to typographical errors, not to mention how difficult it is if not impossible to type without looking.

Take stunning photos with the BlackBerry’s dual rear camera with more control and better image quality, truly an impressive 12MP photo experience. Unsurpassed level of security and enhanced privacy you can control The BlackBerry’s locker is a private app you can access only through your fingerprint or password. You can store anything here and these will stay invisible to outside apps. Locker can also block screenshots and screen recorders. Putting your sensitive documents and apps like your banking app in the locker give them an added layer of security. Within locker is Firefox Focus for private browsing that blocks unwanted ads and automatically deletes your browsing history when you exit. A quick three-finger swipe on the screen gives you the privacy shade, a “peep-hole” feature you can use to read sensitive documents in public without worrying that your neighbors may see. You can even use your thumbprint to snap and save photos directly to locker where all your other secret stuff is. This fingerprint sensor is found right on the space bar, which is a smart way of maximizing space. With such advanced security and privacy features, and regular updates that protect it from the latest threats, no wonder the new BlackBerry has been touted as the most secure phone for 2019 by

Designed for those who want to do more, the KEY2 has up to two days of battery life. Whenever you need a boost, just use the quick-charge 3.0 and you can go from zero to 50% in only 36 minutes. The smartphone’s BlackBerry Hub puts all your notifications in one place so you can stay organized and productive, instead of jumping between multiple apps. The built-in Android Experiences like Google Playstore, Google Lens, and Google Assistant give you everything. Switching is easy!

Interested to make the switch? The transition couldn’t be easier. With Android’s straightforward set-up process, all you need to do is install the device’s switch app on your old phone which is wirelessly connected to your BlackBerry and everything will get transferred. Connect to data log-in using your Google Account, select your preferences, and then start enjoying your new BlackBerry!

Halalan 2019

John and I woke early to exercise our right to vote.  It was a good day as the fI ow in our respective precints were fairly smooth.

This election was made even fun with all the volunteers from San Felipe Neri Church giving out water, candies and biscuita.

My day made even nicer when I saw Ms. Jasmine Bayugo manning the precinct where I'll vote. Ms. Jasmine used to be Julia's Grade 4 adviser in Doninican College. She is one of the best and nicest teachers we know.

Pagpupugay sa lahat ng mga guro, mga taga simbahan at iba pang volunteers na nagbibigay serbisyo para sa maayos na Halalan 2019.

Vlogging 101 for Kids: How to Start Your Own Channel

My youngest son Juan attended the first batch of  Vlogging 101 for Kids: How to Start Your Own Channel, A Manila Workshops Originals in Toy Kingdom Megamall.

The workshop was headed by Omni and Bryce Larrosa, the couple behind the fun and quirky family vlog dubbed as Omni & Bryce or #TheClingyFam. They started their channel in March 2017 with the aim to capture their children's milestones on video. Little did they know that people are looking forward to relevant family content and they realized this when their channel reached 3000 subscribers in just 4 months after launch and receiving thousands of heart-warming and encouraging comments from Filipinos all over the world. Since then, their passion to inspire more people that having a happy family life is possible by sharing their story grew bigger day after day. Their story was also noticed and featured on different TV shows such as Social TV's FamBam, ABS-CBN's Tapatan ni Tunying and GMA's Reel Time reaching an even wider audience both on traditional and digital entertainment channels.

Today, Omni and Bryce has garnered over a million watch minutes with over 400,000 watch views and more than 6,500 subscribers and counting in just less than 2 years of existence, making them one of the country's fastest rising family vlogs.

Have you heard the word VLOGGING? Yes vlogging. As how millenials call it "the trend" nowadays. Vlogging according to Mr. G is the activity or practice of posting short videos to a vlog. Easy right? But how do we do this right? Is it really just to show people what you do everyday? Share

If you're thinking of vlogging soon, join the 2nd Run on June 22, 2019, 9AM – 4PM at Richprime Global Inc, Quezon City.

Hot Toys Secret Base

On our last night in Hong Kong, John and I, along with Dennis, we've visited Hot Toys Secret Base, in Sino Center, in Nathan Road, Hong Kong and In's Point.

If you're a toy collector or you have a partner, husband or lover who's into toys, Ins Point is a place to visit. My husband had a wonderful time shopping Gundam there!

Silka Seaview Hotel Review

I found Silka Seaview Hotel when I Googled "hotel near night market and toy shops". I booked it via Agoda at less than P3,000 with no breakfast. I have stayed in Kowloon and Mongkok area in the past but I am not familiar with Yau Ma Tei District, where Silka Seaview Hotel is located.

I am happy I booked this hotel because I made my husband happy because it is an easy walking distance to The Secret Base of Hot Toys and  In's Mall where John bought Gundam.

Coming from Macau, we took a bus and MTR to reach Silka in about an hour, including the time we got lost looking for this hotel. Though we got lost, it is actually very easy to find. It is a 30-minute drive from Hong Kong International Airport. Located in the Yau Ma Tei District, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR Station. It offers easy access to Mongkok, Nathan Road and Tsim Sha Tsui, where shops of various items abound.

Victoria Harbour can actually be seen from the top rooms. I like the location of this hotel but the front desk staff are not friendly. The room is too small with old bedding. They offer free wifi but I didn't get to try if it has fast connecting ability because I used my rented pocket wifi. Our room was not cleaned very well because we found used plastic bottle a used paper bag in the side table drawer. The  mini fridge also smelt bad.

Although they have a complimentary local area shuttle, we didn't get to utilize it because we decided to enjoy our walking tour of Nathan and Mongkok areas.

The front desk people should be replaced by the housekeeping staff because the two lady housekeeping staff we met are far more suited welcoming tired and confused travellers with their friendly and warm attitude.

Ole London Hotel Review

Before booking at any hotels in Macau, I read hundreds of review to check which is the nearest in Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul's because these two spots were at my priority list to be visited.

Among the many reviews, Ole London Hotel had the most number of positive comments so I booked it via Truth to tell, this hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, 5 to 8 minutes walk to  Senado Square and a 12-minute walk from the Ruins of St. Paul's.

Though the room may be small, I like that they have fast and strong wifi, clean bathroom, easy to manage hot and cold water heater, near the city center; shopping, sightseeing, restaurants;  friendly and professional staff·; and a delicious buffet breakfast.

I'd like to commend Bill, of the Front Desk, who's very accommodating. We stayed in this hotel for two nights, May 7 to 9.

Though I like this hotel, I will have to check the final bill on my credit card becaus eat, I'm supposed to pay  HKD460.01 + hkd46 tax, I think I was charged HKD605 per day. I'll update this post once I get my credit card billing.

Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate

Every time I see nuns my heart leaps with joy because at point in time, when I was a little girl, I contemplated on being one of them.

At our recent Taal Volcano Trek, John and I met Sister Frances, Sister Nympha and the rest of Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate. They were happy bunch of sisters enjoying the beautiful scenery while praying for the intentions of the people they are praying for.

The quick chit-chat with them turned into a family retreat when we visited them last Saturday at Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Formation House located in Talisay, Batangas. We actually just came home this afternoon. We stayed with them for 2 nights and 2 days. We were able to join them in their evening prayer, Sunday Mass, breakfast, lunch, dinner. They even toured us to Ambon Ambon Falls where we had a picnic for lunch.

During their recreational night, John and the kids played Slipper Game (the rule of the game is much like soccer except that they use slipper instead of a ball.

On our last night, Julia, Rafael and Juan helped in making Turmeric Powder. Before we went back home, they gave us fruits and ginataang isda to bring home.

We've been to many places, met a lot of people, the experience we had staying with sisters is one we will never forget.

If you or any one you know have the desire to be a sister or nun, feel free to message then directly in Facebook/Messenger.
