If there's second life, I'm hoping to have a nice voice because I'd like to be a singer. I admire people with good singing voice so my swim time at Savoy Hotel was made even better hearing Talya as they music from The Carpenters and more.

Although only three were present when I saw them, the group is composed of five members, namely Krystina Ng on Vocals, Marga Enriquez on Guitar, Christel Lanzuela on Keyboard, Eireen Alba on Bass, and Camille Inaldo on Drums.

Their Genre is Alternative Rock, singing old and new songs.

Congressman Teodorico Haresco Jr

True to his word, Congressman Teodorico Haresco Jr treated the media to a victory party for a buffet lunch at Dads Quezon Avenue Branch. The atmosphere was light and fun when he arrived where he shook hands to all the guests, giving his most sincere thank you.

The Congressman of Boracay even spared 15 minutes to give a speech and answer question form bloggers, vloggers and trad media.

The  media were so happy most especially when Congressman Haresco said, "next time mag reunion naman tayo sa Boracay".  I am so looking forward to his promise because the last time I went in Boracay was 2001.

About Congressman Teodorico Haresco Jr.:

How To Plant Kangkong

In the Philippines Kangkong is one of the most popular vegetables not only because  it the cheapest,  also because there are so many ways to cook with Kangkong. For our lunch today I cooked Sinigang na Isda (Boiled Fish in Sour Soup).

I don't buy Kangkong anymore because of my unlimited supply from planting on my recyclable plastic container.

Here's How To Plant Kangkong using its scrap.

Fun Way of Exercising at Home

Although I'm enrolled in Fitness First, I don't go there everyday mainly because I am a mother and wife with so many things to do at home because we do not have a helper. To make sure I still get my cardio workout, I incorporate exercise with cleaning. Sharing my fun way of exercising at home  for all the busy moms out there.

The Way I Walk

Mrs PTA Pageant have been running for 3 years now but my kids' school  have not joined since the beginning. I was tapped to join for 3 consecutive years but I'd respectfully decline because this isn't my thing.

I am not comfortable joining contests like this for three reasons. First, I lack the height. Second, I don't like to wear swimsuit. Third and certainly the most important one, the way I walk. I don't walk gracefully. I walk like a cave man😁 I have always been laughed by the way I walk. A friend even told me once, "maganda ka sana pero ang pangit mong mag lakad".

I'm not ashamed of how I walk. This walk have allowed me to do a lot of things, andbrought me to many places. I an.proud of this walk, it's just that my walk is not a pageant material.

Then why am I joining this year? Our chosen representative quit for an important event so she can focus her time and strength for the rigorous training she needed.  When I read Ma'am Beth's, our GPTA President, plea for a candidate, I felt I needed to step up to save our beloved school since this is the very first time we're joining Mrs PTA.

Whatever the outcome of my walk, I'm joyfully doing this to give back to the school that is providing the best kind of education to my three children.

It was fun meeting the other mom candidates. Thanks to Coach Chris Aquino for building our confidence. Thanks to Ma'am Beth and Ma'am Egen for the support for the second kalakal canvassing. And here's our practice earlier.

Core Exercise

Big tummy has always been my problem because I like eating salty food and hate drinking water. Bad combination right! I know. So lately I've been trying to cut on chips that's oozing with salt, been drinking lots of water and doing core exercises.

Thanks Coach Derik for pushing me hard. Hopefully I'd have better ab by next moth for my 46th birthday.

Disclaimer, you can do this at home, just be careful when handling the weights/dumbbell. If you do not have a dumbbell at home, you may opt to use  2 liters plastic bottle filled with water.

Learn to Swim with Bert Lozada Swim School

I learned how to swim when I was in high school but I have always been afraid to explore the deeper part of the pool. I'd often just stay at the corner of a 5ft pool just to make sure I don't drown.

One of my bucket list is to learn how to swim confidently so each year I'd hire someone to teach me or enroll in a swim class. All of those attempts were futile. I am still afraid to even put my head under water.

Today at Ace Water Spa in Pasig, I once again, for the 100th time tried to learn to swim with Bert Lozada Swim School. How was it? I'm amazed that in just an hour my phobia slowly vanished. Thanks to Coach Elleigh, I confidently learned the basics of swimming. Will I go back? Of course, yes!

Pier's Dried Fish

Have you heard about Pier's Dried Fish? I bet you haven't. I only knew about Pier's Dried Fish last week when mommy-blogger friend, Mommy Pier of The Soapbox Filipina blog, posted her business in Facebook.

Mommy Pier's husband and his family have been with the dried fish trade since way back. The dried fish they supply  have always been first class quality. But only few people know of this dried fish, since it is sold by bulk.

Mommy Pier hoped for these first class dried fish to reach the homes of mommies like me so she decided to put up Pier's Dried Fish this high quality  dried fish that sells in small packages good for household consumption.

All of the fond memories I had with my late Mama came back because of Mommy Pier's post.  Growing up as a child, I had many happy memories with my Mama specially when it comes to food. Our breakfast before would consist of fried rice, fried eggs, veggies and fried dried fish.

For the Philippine Independence Day, I cooked Champorado with Tuyo on the side for breakfast and  Ginisang Repolyo with dried labahita for lunch.

Slumber Party

A slumber party is a party, typically for preteen or teenage girls, in which all the guests spend the night at the house where the party is held. I never experienced a slumber party when I was a kid basically because my parents were strict.

Now at 45, I got to enjoy this kind of party when Jen came to the Philippines for a vacation. We stayed at Sofitel, with Christella, Gigi, Marilyn and Ate Gemma.

We've stayed up til the wee hours reminiscing our high school days - both happy and awkward experiences. The funniest part was when Theela blurted, "O ikaw Marlyn, kasama ka pa din sa silent majority" just because Lyn didn't say anything the whole time😁.

Boxing Session with Coach Arnel Antipuesto at Cafe Lupe

I get heavier, bigger, fatter every time we travel because all I do is eat, blog, eat, vlog, eat, sleep a little, eat, repeat.  This time for my Health and Fitness 2019 Goals, I'm including a visit to the hotel's gym to do at least an hour of workout.

Starting it with a Boxing Session with Coach Arnel Antipuesto at Cafe Lupe. This is my first time to join a boxing gym although I like this sport ever since I was 6 years old. I remember doing a match with my neighbor Neneng who is older than me. I played boxing with her probably until 10 years old when my baby breast were starting to grow.

In just three days under Coach Arnel, I learned the basic punches, leg moves and core exercise to help flatten my tummy. Thanks Coach Arnel and Hannah for assisting me!

If you're staying at OneA Hotel or dining at Cafe Lupe and Kampai, visit Coach Arnel at Elorde Boxing Gym, locted below the Cafe Lupe Restaurant.

Rambler Garden Hotel Review

I'm already quite familiar with TST, Mongkok, Nathan, mostly the city in Hong Kong.  I was adamant when my friend Malou suggested that John and stay at Rambler Garden Hotel in  Tsing Yi area because I do not know the place and what tourist attractions are near.

Good thing I heeded Malou's suggestion because I really like the location of Rambler Garden Hotel. Rambler is a stylish hotel located a 5-minute drive from Kwai Fong MTR. Featuring rooms with views of Rambler Channel, it offers free Wi-Fi and a large sky garden, it is a 20-minute journey from Hong Kong Disneyland by the MTR and just a 30-minute drive from Hong Kong International Airport via the Airport Express.

Tsing Yi area is a great choice for travellers interested in Disneyland, Po Lin Monastery, Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha) and Tai 0 Fishing Village.

I like almost everything about Rambler Garden Hotel - affordable rate, the view, the room is bigger than most hotels in the city, WIFI is fast and efficient. I also like that Malou live nearby. I just didn't like the rudeness of the Male Front Desk/Receptionist. He was not helpful at all. Maybe because of language barrier or he's just plain and simple rude!

Do I recommend Rambler Garden Hotel? Yes, if you plan to explore Lantau Island (Disneyland, Po Lin Monastery, Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha) and Tai 0 Fishing Village)

DIY Macau 3 Day 2 Night Itinerary

John and I have been to Hong Kong several times but never made a short trip to nearby Macau. For our recent trip we've decided DIY Macau,3 Day 2 Night Itinerary, since it is so close to Hong Kong.

If you're considering to visit Macau soon you might want to read our DIY Macau trip. You’ll also find our travel expenses just to give you tip on how much to spend.

Macau was just a translation by the Portuguese. When the Portuguese landed on the shore near A-ma Temple over 400 years ago, they asked the locals what the name of the land was. To which they replied “A-ma-gao,”. It means Bay of A-ma, named after the goddess revered at the nearby temple.

Today, Macau is formally known as Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.  It is an autonomous territory, so even though it is officially part of China, it has its own currency and immigration policy, separate from that of mainland China or Hong Kong. In fact, even visitors from the mainland and HK will have to pass through immigration and customs check upon entering Macau.  Cantonese and Portuguese are the official languages. Currency: Macanese pataca (MOP). MOP 100 is around USD 1.3, EUR 10, PHP 645, SGD 16.2 (as of April 2018). Hong Kong dollar (HKD) is often accepted at 1:1 rate. Most establishments prefer cash payment, but they also accept credit card transactions. Electricity Info: 220V, 50Hz. Types D, M, G, and F are used. Macau is a very walkable city, and most interesting sites are within walking distance of each other.

Macau is composed of four districts:

1. Macau peninsula, where the historical core of Macau is located. Most of the tourist spots are here. It’s also the most populated district.
2. Taipa Island. Although the airport is here, it is mostly a residential island.
3. Coloane Island. The least developed of the four areas. For tourists, places of interest here include hiking trails, old temples, and a couple of beaches.
4. Cotai Strip. The reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane, occupied mostly by hotels and gaming buildings.

The best time to visit Macau is October to December for fine weather, comfortable temperatures, and no threats of typhoons. January and February are generally dry, too! But it can get chillier. April is when the level of rainfall starts to rise, peaking in June and slowly subsiding in September. If you are on a budget, avoid November, because that’s when the Macau Grand Prix happens, and that means rates of hotels goes higher.

Filipinos can temporarily stay in Macau without a visa for 30 days. For other countries, Hong Kong (1 year), Indonesia (30 days), Malaysia (30 days), Thailand (30 days), Singapore (30 days), United Kingdom (6 months), United States (30 days), European Union states (90 days).

I originally planned to ride a ferry going to Macau but I watched somewhere the  beautiful sea bridge
so we went the bus way. Here’s how:

Take the MTR to Sunny Bay Station.
Board B5 Bus to HZMB in Lantau Island. Fare: HK$ 5.8.
Go through Immigration and Customs inspection.

Ride shuttle bus to Macau. The ticket office is within the restricted area, after the Immigration. Fare: HK$ 65 (regular times), HK$70 (midnight to 5-59am).

Places We Visited
The Historic Center of Macau, the most popular attractions. This includes the Ruins of St. Paul’s, the Senado Square, and A-ma Temple. The Venetian: Gondola Ride, The Parisian Macao: Eiffel Tower,
Studio City: Golden Reel Ferris Wheel, Macau Museum.

Where We Stayed in Macau
Macau is best known for its 5-star hotels but it also has cheaper forms of accommodations. These options are concentrated in the Macau peninsula, around the city center. We stayed at Ole London, a budget hotel.

By Free Hotel Shuttles. You can board any of the free shuttles provided by hotels to get to the city center. You don’t need to have a reservation at that hotel to be let in. Even if you have no plan on staying there, you can get on. Just pick the hotel closest to your destination. For example, here are the bus schedules for the Venetian, Wynn Hotel, and City of Dreams.

By Free Airport Shuttle. The airport has its own free shuttle service. At the Arrival Hall, find the north exit and travel on foot to the parking lot, where you’ll find the buses. There’s a bus every 15-20 minutes. Available from 11am-9pm.

Can´t Get Enough of Your Love Babe - Barry White Guesting at The Simpsons

I won a bottle of an expensive liquor, courtesy of Mr. Prem Singh, at the recently concluded Kampai Sushi Bar Grand Opening just by naming the singer of the song Can´t Get Enough of Your Love Babe.

The story goes like this...Prem came over to my table seeing that I was enjoying this music, he said, "if you can guess the singer of this song you'll get a bottle of this".

The competitive spirit in me awakened. Ti tell you honestly, I'm bad at memorizing song titles and singers so I just told Prem, "the singer had thick beard and mustache". Then I quickly recalled memories of binge watching The Simpsons, then I remembered where Barry White was a guest named as Larry White.

Nagbunga din ang walang sawa kong panonood ng Simpsons!😀

Kampai Sushi Bar

Joyfully supported my Babe Mich Lucas for Kampai Sushi Bar Grand Opening at its new location, inside Cafe Lupe Compound, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo City.

The celebration started with the Blessing and Ribbon Cutting headed by Father Nante Tolentino. The
First Sake Pairing Dinner followed at 7pm and great Entertainment by Jon Tupaz at 9pm.

It was a successful night as Mich  family, friends, suppliers and colleagues trooped the place to show  support.

Special mention goes to Mich's kids, Alex and Alliyah for helping their mom assist the guests. Also not to forget Alex and Aliyah's friends (Joseph, Lou and Jaimie) who also helped throughout the night.
