The Way I Walk

Mrs PTA Pageant have been running for 3 years now but my kids' school  have not joined since the beginning. I was tapped to join for 3 consecutive years but I'd respectfully decline because this isn't my thing.

I am not comfortable joining contests like this for three reasons. First, I lack the height. Second, I don't like to wear swimsuit. Third and certainly the most important one, the way I walk. I don't walk gracefully. I walk like a cave man😁 I have always been laughed by the way I walk. A friend even told me once, "maganda ka sana pero ang pangit mong mag lakad".

I'm not ashamed of how I walk. This walk have allowed me to do a lot of things, andbrought me to many places. I an.proud of this walk, it's just that my walk is not a pageant material.

Then why am I joining this year? Our chosen representative quit for an important event so she can focus her time and strength for the rigorous training she needed.  When I read Ma'am Beth's, our GPTA President, plea for a candidate, I felt I needed to step up to save our beloved school since this is the very first time we're joining Mrs PTA.

Whatever the outcome of my walk, I'm joyfully doing this to give back to the school that is providing the best kind of education to my three children.

It was fun meeting the other mom candidates. Thanks to Coach Chris Aquino for building our confidence. Thanks to Ma'am Beth and Ma'am Egen for the support for the second kalakal canvassing. And here's our practice earlier.
