Cardiovascular Management Through the Help of Amgen Phils. and Zuellig Corp.

Back in 2007, I almost had a heart attack due to high bad cholesterol, which I didn't know about. It started as stiff neck that went beyond a week. I eventually had complete lab tests that gave a result of having elevated bad cholesterol.  Even my doctor was surprised that I had that results because I exercise regularly and eat healthy food. My case, hereditary or familial case, which is probably the worst kind since it is already in my blood.

With that said, I am happy to have attended One Family, One Heart, One Goal Bloggers' Event earlier at the Crowne Plaza in Ortigas, Pasig City, where I learned more about Dyslipidemia (an abnormal amount of lipids,e.g. triglycerides, cholesterol and/or fat phospholipids) in the blood, from Dr. Lourdes Ella Santos.

There are 2 kinds of cholesterol in the body, good and bad. Elevated bad cholesterol, or low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), in the blood increases a person's risk of developing stherosclerotic plaque deposits which can block the arteries and lead to a heart attack or stroke. Lowering LDL- C also lowers a persons chances of developing CVD.
