Crow Pose is one of the many arm balances in yoga and I've been struggling for seven months to do it. Finally did it today! Gratitude to Teacher Matthew for patiently teaching me.
I dread this pose because I'm so afraid of falling forward and hitting my head on the mat. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. The best way to practice is with a pillow on the floor in front of you. Start by balancing for just a breath or two, and build the strength to hold this pose for 5–10 breaths. Place your knees high on the arms near the armpits. Although the knees do rest on the backs of the arms, remember to squeeze your thighs inward. The squeezing action is key to creating the necessary tension required to stay balanced in this pose.
