Mt. Ayaas

John and I have been wanting to trek for years. It's just that our schedules won't meet with friends who have been inviting us.

Finally last week comes the invite of our beautiful yoga teacher, who's also a trail runner, who joyfully offered to bring us at Mt. Ayaas in Rizal.

Mt. Ayaas is a pleasant addition to the outdoor destinations of Rodriguez, Rizal in Brgy. Wawa in Rodriguez (formerly Montalban). We started early, 4am meet up at Mcdo Ever Goteco Commonwealth. Then drove to Bgy Wawa. The place is just an hour away from Metro Manila but we made it in less than an hour because most of the people were already on Christmas vacation.

Mt. Ayaas is a mountain made distinctive by its river trekking and grassland slopes and offering dramatic views atop limestone formations.

I had difficulty the first half hour because I could not see much, I forgot my glasses at home.  The trek was very slippery and I kind of slipped many times but thanks to body balance yoga because I did not fall even once.

Our gratitude to Teacher Arlene for being our trek guide, official video and photographer. Sobra, sobrang salamat! Na enjoy namin ng todo ang hike na ito!
