Note: This was a trip my family did in 2016. I fposted this in my old and forgotten travel blog. I'm sure rates rates have changed. Please check St. Joseph Resthouse website for details.
Just like the movie 'That Thing Called Tadhana', the #Mendiolables had a sudden road trip to Sagada last April 11. We left Manila at 12:30am, with 2 stops for gas and coffee, we reach Sagada after 8 hours.
Just like the movie 'That Thing Called Tadhana', the #Mendiolables had a sudden road trip to Sagada last April 11. We left Manila at 12:30am, with 2 stops for gas and coffee, we reach Sagada after 8 hours.
The first thing we did was to find a place where we can stay for our five days Sagada exploration. During that time, accommodations are fullybooked due to Caving Conference. Since I have read about St. Joseph Resthouse before, I told my husband to go there. We took a chance, luckily they can accommodate us for a night. We stayed in a 3-bedroom, which costs P2,500. Well, it was cheap by Manila Standard but not when you're in Sagada. There are other accommodations for as low as P250 per head, per night.
We settled our bags and other stuff and had lunch at St. Joseph Resthouse Restaurant. John slept, Rafael and Juan watched tv, while Julia and I went around town to register and check out food places,.
All Sagada tourist must register first at the tourism center for P35 per head. You have to keep the receipt and bring it to all spots because they will check the control number before you can proceed.
Have fun!
I’m not an expert on Sagada but I do hope that you find this post useful. I’m only sharing some of the things that I learned from our trip. If you have any suggestions or simply want to share your own experiences, then please feel free to do so in the comments section below. I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere of Sagada!
