Mount Purro

Day 145 of 2021 -   Tucked in the foothills of Sierra Madre Mountain Range, Mount Purro has been in my travel bucket list for a long time.  I wanted to see the place if it is really a sweet escape away from the busy city life.

Walk-ins are not allowed so I booked Day Tour via  Mount Purro FB Page.  Rate is P800.00 per person, which covers, Forest hike, River Trek, Swimming and lunch. Day Tour is from 8am to 5pm.

We left Manila at 3am and arrived at the site at 430am.  We took a nap inside our car while waiting for the earliest Forest Hike at 5:30am.  It was a fairly easy hike which we finished in less than an hour.

We immediately did the River Trek which is a long walk before reaching the other side of Mount Purro property.  We had a short Balsa Ride before going back for lunch.

My verdict:

This is nice place to visit if you want to commune with nature. I love the easy hike, I enjoyed looking at the mountains. We had plenty of time to fly the drone and take photos since we were the only guests at the time of our hike.

The River Trek would have been better if it's not summer. The water level is low during hot season.

We met couple of girls who went just for the gram (to do photoshoot for their instagram)

We weren't able to swim in their pool anymore since we decided to go home after having our lunch.

Lunch at Loli's Kitchen is a good combination of Sinigang na Salmon Belly, Lechon Kawali, Mixed Veggies, Rice, Turon, Avocado Shake.

I ordered Halo-halo at P150, which I did not like because it does not have enough sahog (ingredients).

Water works are being constructed so the road will make the trip  a little bit of a challenge. We wasted 30 minutes finding the right way since there's a lot of one way sign.

It was nice meeting the owners, Mr. Toto and Ms. Baby Malvar. We had time to chat while waiting for our lunch.
