There were about 5 events I covered that was held at Chef Jessie's at Rockwell Club. I met its CEO, Chef Jessie Sincioco but I never had the courage to talk to her in those past events. When I covered Hi-Precision event last month, I didn't think twice, I approached Chef Jessie and told her I'm a big fan, especially when she cooked for Pope Francis. Shaking Chef Jessie's hand made me feel like I already shook the hand of Poe Francis!
Last week, my family had the privilege to meet the culinary expert and premiere restaurateur in her own French Mediterranean Restaurant - Chef Jessie!

We talked about Pope Francis and how serendipity worked its way for Chef Jessie to be where she is now. She wanted to be banker at first. She worked in a family business, got bored so she joined The Great Maya Cookfest in 1983, where she won he grand prize in the baking category. She was immediately offered a special training course within the pastry section of Hotel Intercontinental Manila. Formally hired even before her training course was completed, she quickly rose from the ranks to become the very First Filipina Pastry Chef in 1990. On top of her many awards in “Chefs On Parade”, the country’s most prestigious culinary competition, she has twice bagged the L’Assiete D’Or, the most coveted gold trophy.
Chef Jessie’s insatiable hunger for gastronomic creativity is a a success story as she now owns three restaurants - Chef Jessie at Rockwell Club, Top of The City at Citibank Tower, and 100 in Libis.
